This was a very well thought out lodge. Room wise very good. The sofas could have been more comfortable. The working of the cooker, hob etc. was a bit of a puzzle. There were some instruction books, but I resorted to google in the end to find out how it all worked. The amount and size of the logs for the log burner gave us a good laugh. Two enormous logs that would not have enabled a fire to start and probably would not have fitted in the burner at all. We ended up not using it. There were not enough towels. Only one each. No use to ladies with long hair. Thrilled to find a hand mixer to beat some cream, but no beaters anywhere to fit this. Bit disappointed that having booked somewhere specifically that took dogs, the dogs had to be kept on leads at all times. Fantastic walks very nearby. Hassocks interesting and other nearby villages. Very handy for Brighton. The extremely large garden centre next door is awesome and we visited it regularly. Good breakfasts. Despite our odd niggles, have already booked to go to the site again next year, though have chosen a differed lodge, both for variety and because of its location. Basically would high recommend

The Oak Lodge is one of the best places I have ever stayed in, it was clean, warm, comfortable and felt very welcoming and certainly deserves it's 5 star rating. The grounds surrounding the lodges were well maintained and manicured. If I ever go down to Brighton again, which is likely, I wouldn't hesitate to re-book Oak Lodge. Thankyou for a wonderful few days.
