Oak Cottage is situated in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park in a rural location together with a few other houses at the end of a gated road. This barn conversion has been carefully furnished and co-ordinated, with a picture window in the living room. Oak Cottage is environmentally friendly throughout, having solar panels and LED lighting. Oak Cottage is in an ideal location for walking and cycling within the stunning scenery of the Yorkshire Dales. Outside, there is a garden with multiple bird and (red) squirrel feeders, plus an outdoor dining set and parasol.
To the top of Pen-y-Ghent is an 8-mile walk, from the cottage. It is just 7 miles from the bustling market town of Hawes where there is a large selection of individual country shops, pubs, restaurants, and tea rooms, together with the Wensleydale Creamery, home to Wallis and Gromit’s favourite cheese. Further afield lies the large market town of Skipton which boasts a Norman castle standing proudly at the head of the wide cobbled high street. Skipton offers canal trips, an indoor swimming pool, golf course and trains which run to Leeds, where there are enough shops to satisfy the most ardent of shoppers.
Alternatively, just sit in the garden and spot the wide variety of birds...up to 40 at a time, and red squirrels are frequent visitors. Shop 6 miles, pub 5 miles and restaurant 7 miles.
