Barn View Cottages are a group of three holiday cottages, tastefully converted from a stone and timber clad barn

Barn View Cottages are a group of three holiday cottages, tastefully converted from a stone and timber clad barn. The cottages are situated opposite the owner’s house in an elevated position with fantastic views, and all three have been refurbished to a good standard, for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The properties have use of a shared resource room which contains tourist information, detailed maps, DVDs, toys and games. In an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, there are a large number of places of interest to visit, suitable for all the family. Enthusiasts of outdoor activities will find plenty to do nearby, including walking, mountain biking, canoeing, horse riding, golf and angling to name just a few. The cottages are home to a bird watcher’s paradise. Visitors have a great opportunity to observe nesting ospreys just ten minutes away, attracting admirers from across the country. Just miles from the historic 16th century market town of Llanidloes in Powys, and only 40 minutes from the coast, they are an ideal base for your stay in mid Wales. The Hafren Forest, Clywedog Dam, the slopes of Plynlimon Mountain, the Elan Valley, Lake Vyrnwy, the Victorian seaside resort of Aberystwyth, or the old fishing hamlet of Aberdovey, just north of Aberystwyth, are just some of the places of interest within easy reach. Trout fishing and yachting hire available in the lake at Coywedog about 4 miles away. The cottages make an ideal choice for those who are walking part of Glyndwrs Way, which passes through Llanidloes and Llyn Clywedog. Shop, pub and restaurant 2.5 miles.

Excellent short break, very clean and everything you need for a short hot tub holiday... Owners were excellent, friendly helpful and informative. ... Hot tub excellent just surprised at extra cost per person per day!!!! Suggestions would be incorporate the cost into the price, better wi-fi booster and definitely a larger table for dining.... Perhaps a drop leaf table so that all requirements for a romantic dinner can be fitted onto the table. We will definitely book again thanks

We had a blissful and relaxing stay in this lovely, cosy cottage. it's up in the mountains with wonderful views across the valley, and the only hustle and bustle comes from the sheep, cows, and chickens. It's an ideal spot to get away from it all, with lovely walking and amazing scenery everywhere you look. For anyone desperate for mobile phone signal, we both got reception just a minute or two's walk up the hill behind the cottage. The hosts are charming - very helpful. I hope we get to go back - I loved it.

Location is too far to travel to anything, had to pay for usage of hotub and sauna when we paid a lot for one tiny room and a kitchen area which could only fit 1 small midget in, also the privacy was appalling facing the owners house so couldn't really relax without shutting windows and blinds which defeats the object of the scenery. Had to ask the owners to use the spa and for certain other things so felt like I was at home with parents and never really relaxing. Television outdated and signal not strong enough to watch channels so had to watch movies of a laptop not ideal. Also dogs and animals off owners that loud you could never have a proper lie in. To top it off you have to put a deposit down which may I ask get billed for everything I.e a tiny bit of make up on towels was £20 so still after trying to enjoy your holiday you get billed at the end for nit nav and trivia things also over priced for what you get as you don't get the cottage cleaned or anything like that so really it's like owning a home just in a different location as I set to believe if you go away on a break you should atleast get something out of it. I could go on but my money's paid now but will never be falling into that trap again!

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Sorry you feel the way you do but we as Owners are always striving for 10/10. But if the cottages are left in a bad state and extra cleaning is needed, then an extra charge will occur out of the deposit (in this case £10 not the £20 as stated). The cottages are idyllic for a quiet location as stated in the description they have 4 stars, but this is why we have deposits so the cottages are left in a good state for other people to enjoy.
