Such a lovely cottage. Very homely, cosy and comfortable. The owner was very helpful and prompt with any questions we had. Wish we were back there, having a nice walk in the day and then lighting the lovely fire in the evening with a glass of wine! The only downside was that the nearest pub as advertised has now shut down, the next nearest has just been taken over by new owners and was a shambles, and the third pub in the village doesn’t accept dogs! But we would definitely return! Thank you

Large, comfortable house with plenty of room for our family of six. Loved the wood burner and made great use of it for drying of wet boots. Lots of thoughtful touches to make the stay a pleasant one, particularly the cream tea on arrival.

Another great stay in this lovely well equipped cottage. It was warm and comfortable with great bathrooms and beautifully clean. It's a great location for exploring the Forest of Dean and surrounding areas. We had a relaxing week. I would highly recommend it for a break.

We stayed in 2017, but now it seems a bit tired in places, ie the carpets, one of the double beds, not so comfy, a missing tile by the toilet in the en suite, the sink still has two cracks, the radiator was filthy yellow stains. In 2017 seemed value for money this time I feel it was expensive. There were lots of cobwebs this year. There were no spare logs and Fiona didn't bring them as promised, when she knocked on the door on Sunday morning, bearing in mind we had been there since Fri afternoon. The log burner door handle was broken upon arrival and after 4 attempted phone calls & 2 message, to tell them about it, we gave up trying. The cakes were lovely and it looked all cosy upon arrival with all the lights on.

Response on behalf of the Owner; Many thanks for your comments. The tiles have now been fixed. Spare wood is now in the wood store. Log burner door handle arrived and being fitted.

Shop and pub not the distance from cottage that was stated in desciption. Cottage very spacious and comfortable for the 7 of us but the creeky doors and floorboards in the night were a nightmare, didnt sleep through the night the whole week. Needed a car to get to pub so as we all liked a drink somebodt had to abstain every day. Perhaps this is a cottage for younger and fitter people.

Beautiful property, very clean and extremely well equipped, in a good village setting. Our only disappointments were the very low, uncomfortable lounge settees; the very small, basic garden space not visible on the website photographs; and the closeness of the neighbours on both sides, on one side with quite noisy children. In contrast the property had very comfortable beds, and amazingly powerful showers!
