We had a perfect break at Oak Bank Cottage in between Christmas and New Year as a group of five with family dog. The cottage was spotlessly clean, very spacious and had everything we could possibly have needed - nothing was forgotten and the owner also made us a really lovely cream tea and fantastic homemade muffins, which was nice to find on arrival! There's a fantastic pub down the road within easy walking distance and some nice walks round and about. The cottage is also in a very peaceful position overlooking the valley. The owner was very helpful in responding to some issues that we had during our stay and overall, we have a very relaxing festive break. Thank you!

Beautiful place, great location with amazing views. The only and main issue for us was we hadn't realised dogs weren't allowed upstairs so we didn't get great night's sleeps, had we known we wouldn't of booked this for this particular occasion.

    Response from:

Can’t wait to return to this fabulous cottage. It looked great in the brocher - even better in real life and was comfortable with everything you could want for people and animals. You can even take your horse on holiday and there are livery facilities. Gloucester and Ross on Wye were both an easy drive. Up the road was the International Centre for Birds of Prey at Newent (we had met at the cottage to go to the owl night flights and hog roast held there on winter evenings). The owner offer a range of useful services and we arrived to a sumptuous cream tea. You are welcome to trek up the hill to the farm too. We had a great time - so much to do! Return visit essential for us.

The cottage has EVERYTHING you could possibly need and we went with 4 under 5s and 2 dogs. Child friendly with safety gate, cot, high chair and child toilet seats. Dogs were more than welcome with their own space, clean bed and bowls. They are allowed anywhere downstairs but have a full garage that they can stay in when you’re out. Nice and cool with a big bed and a safety gate to stop them getting into the main part of the house. Lovely owners who do not disturbed you but will show you around the farm if you wish. The cream tea is amazing. We even ordered another. We also ordered the stew which was delicious! We spent our nights barbecueing (which is provided even though it doesn’t say so in the description) or at the nearby Farmers Boy Inn which serves amazing pies! Also very child friendly, they blow up the bouncy castle whenever you ask. Lots to do nearby if you like the outdoors. Cottage also has a dryer which is another handy item not mentioned in the description.

Oak Bank Cottage is a truly lovely holiday home-from-home. It is very well equipped and spotlessly clean. Dogs are well provided for and it is clear they are very welcome guests. Ross-on-Wye and Gloucester are within a short drive of the cottage as is the Forest of Dean with all its visitor attractions. A lovely part of the world with its huge skies and glorious vistas!
