Description

This cottage is situated within the South Downs National Park on a working farm, close to the village of Buriton.

Situated within the South Downs National Park and close to the market town of Petersfield, this well presented, spacious holiday annex (originally single storey outer farm buildings) has been sympathetically modernised whilst retaining its original 18th century character and as such the upstairs is located in the roof space with slopiing ceiling and beams. It is attached to the owner’s farmhouse on a working arable and sheep farm close to the picturesque village of Buriton. Ideally placed for visiting Jane Austen’s house at Chawton, the Watercress Steam Railway, South Downs Way, Winchester Portsmouth and beaches at Hayling Island and the The Witterings. Shop and pubs 11/2 miles.

Ground floor: Living room with tiled floor/dining room/kitchen. Second living room with sofa bed and patio doors. First floor: 1 double bedroom. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet. Beams and sloping ceilings throughout.

Woodburner in living room included. Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Freeview TV. DVD. Stereo/CD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washing machine. Dishwasher. Fridge/freezer. Enclosed patio and furniture. Parking (2 cars). No smoking.

We enjoy to stay in the cottage for the second time. But this time the rain was there.

Comfortable accommodation although didn't like the bathroom. Very small and inconvenient. A walk in shower and no bath would have been better

Premises excellent, well-furnished and superbly equipped. Location just too remote from village to walk there - road not really appropriate for pedestrians. Once in the village, access to local walks and to the South Downs Way was easy to find and clearly marked. Petersfield was the nearest location for dining out, and on three evenings it was more convenient, and very pleasant, to dine in, having made use of the freezer and fridge. If we visited the South Downs again, we would probably try to find a cottage in a village. Having said that, we were welcomed and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
