Welcome Cottages

A carefully curated collection of properties that offer high quality, good value accommodation in great locations across the UK, Ireland, France and Italy

Enjoying views out toward the harbour, this cosy bungalow is only 1 mile from the beach, perfect for a family holiday.

Number Six can accommodate up to four guests, and offers off road parking on a steep driveway and an enclosed rear garden. This two bedroomed detached bungalow in East Cowes, has an elevated view looking out toward the harbour. The property is within easy walking distance of the car ferry from Southampton and is close to the chain ferry, which links East and West Cowes. It is also within easy walking of a wide selection of restaurants, shops, pubs and other attractions. UKSA (the youth charity and centre of excellence for nautical professional development) is close by, for those learning to sail or undertake other maritime training courses.
With over 200 miles of cycle routes across the island, cyclists will love the scenic routes and small idyllic lanes, or coastal routes; such as the Military Road – affording visitors sensational views of the coastline. Walkers can enjoy over 500 miles of well-maintained footpaths, and the island is a joy for photographers and artists, with stunning subjects to capture around every corner.
Of course, the neighbouring town of Cowes is well known by sailors, who come from all over the globe for Cowes Week, the Round the Island Yacht Race and many other sailing events. Further nearby attractions include Osborne House, the favoured holiday home of Prince Albert and Queen Victoria, now owned by English Heritage, which is just a 5-minute drive away from the property and is a must see for all visitors. ‘It is impossible to imagine a prettier spot,’ such were the words of Queen Victoria after her first visit to Osborne House. Alternatively why not pay a visit to Blackgang Chine, the oldest themed attraction in the UK, or Ventnor Botanical Gardens, Tapnell Farm Park, Carisbrooke Castle or any of the seaside towns of Ryde, Shanklin or Sandown. Whatever you decide, one thing is for sure, the Isle of Wight has plenty to offer. Beach 1 mile. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

Response on behalf of the owner: Thank you for your comments. Unfortunately due to the hot weather the garden was not looking its best, hopefully my gardener will soon have it looking tidy.

Thank you to the owners for allowing us to book this property and for being very helpful in letting us have access earlier than stated. It was clean and tidy, but could do with a bit of a house clearance as it is very cluttered. Also, there were 4 adults booked but only 2 towels provided - luckily we didn't mind sharing with our partners but the towels were very wet after two people had used following a shower.

Response on behalf of the owner: Thank you for your comments. We have taken your comments on board and will endeavor to see whether there is anything really not needed that could be removed for future bookings. We will also ensure that enough towels are provided for all guests - we are sorry this seems to have been overlooked during your visit.
