In the pretty, seaside, conservation village of Cellardyke, Number One was originally a fisherman’s cottage. This ground floor cottage apartment is within walking distance of sandy beaches and both Cellardyke and Anstruther harbours. Explore the historic lanes and wynds, watch the boats coming into the harbour, take a boat trip to the Isle of May to see the puffins, and if you are lucky, spot a school of dolphins, visit the Scottish fisheries or enjoy award-winning fish and chips, all within a short distance from your front door.
You can travel further afield on foot or bike, the Fife Coastal Route passes through the village, where you can explore the picturesque shoreline and small fishing villages. The historic town of St Andrews, 9 miles, is only a short drive, with its championship golf courses. Local food, and art and craft festivals are held throughout the year, making this the ideal location all year round for all ages. Other places to visit include Dundee, 24 miles, Perth, 41 miles, and the beautiful city of Edinburgh, 46 miles.

    Lovely ground floor flat located close to Anstruther Harbour. Beautifully furnished with lovely sun room opening out onto a rear courtyard. Well equipped kitchen with everything you could want although with ample supply of local fish and chip shops didn't bother to much with cooking! Location is perfect for visiting local villages and St Andrews which is a very easy 20 minute drive away.

    Our second visit to Number One and our holiday was just as enjoyable as last year. Everything you would want all on your doorstep or a short drive away.

    No 1 has loads of space for 4, the two sitting areas are a bonus and very cosy. The kitchen is very well equipped for those who like to cook. The courtyard will be ideal in the summer. Another bonus is the parking space.

    We were already in 2011 once in this apartment. Meanwhile there is a new owner and partly new facility. The location is very good and central, you can reach all the restaurants and bars in Anstruther on foot. As golfers we find in the area very many excellent golf courses. Also for these reasons we decided again for this apartment. Unfortunately some flaws in the meantime are still not fixed. The windows to the street (living room and main bedroom) are not open, as with silicone glued. So you can not air the bedroom! We had to sleep in the smaller room, which goes to the rear, has a plastic window and this is to tipping. The door lock of the Sunroom is still not to be blocked and the door therefore always open. It also closes badly. It is a closed small garden, but one day a gardener stood there, so he came in. No very safe feeling when the apartment is almost not lockable. There was no toilet brush, which we had to buy first. There was also no possibility to hang the wardrobe (jackets) in the anteroom. There was a wooden fiddle on the wall with wooden hooks, but all of them were broken off. So we also bought a door wardrobe to hang. We have left these two things for the next tenant. To be noted positive is that after the first week fresh linen and towels were brought. The owner by SmS announced fast vacuum cleaner cleaning and bath cleaning but not took place. Unfortunately the cleanliness in the house was not 100%. The kitchen furniture is not very clean, and you could look exactly in the whole apartment, but bathroom and bed linen were already OK. An hour later check out was us easily possible. And the neighbors are very nice and helpful, you live also right next to the local residents. All in all, we liked it and we can recommend No 1 also.

    A flat rather than a cottage, I personally found it rather clinical and none of the settees or armchairs were comfortable. My biggest personal concern was that I could not fit through the doors of the shower and since I cannot get in and out of a bath, for this reason alone I would not stay here again. I was surprised to find that a gas safety inspection had been arranged with ten minutes notice it was due to happen, while we were renting the flat, the gas engineer was surprised that this had been done and advised me that if he had known he would have carried out the inspection when the property was vacant. The owner simply advised me that this was something that had to be done and having arrived with the gas engineer left him to carry out his inspection.
