We had a very enjoyable stay in this spacious flat. Parking was a bit hit and miss in the street but there are nearby car parks. Could not connect to the Wi fi. I would certainly recommend this property and I hope to return.

We’ve stayed at the helmsman twice. First time was June 2017 and more recently in August/September of this year. The location is perfect. A stones throw from the beach and shops and Directly outside the property is a green with boating lake, trampolines and golf. Whilst we really enjoy our weekends in Cromer, we feel we may have to look for alternate accommodation next time due to the lack of maintenance carried out on the property. As mentioned before, we’ve visited twice and noticed on both occasions that the Patchy paintwork, dirty stained carpets, damp smell downstairs and worn furniture really need to be addressed, especially when you are paying in excess of £200 per night in peak season. We re-booked for a second stay hoping that during the down season the owners would have invested in the property to bring it back to life but this wasn’t the case. We understand that this is a pet friendly accommodation and will be subject to extra wear & tear however we counted 10 stains on the small carpeted area downstairs. The wooden floor was dirty on arrival, as was the sofa and also the walls themselves. If it wasn’t for the above mentioned we’d rebook for next year in a heartbeat. The books, dvds buckets and spades and board games are all a nice touch, along with the location but not enough to draw us back again.

The apartment was fantastic, we love Cromer and this apartment is in a great location, close to the beach, arcades, pier, shops and cafes/restaurants. It is well equipped and we had a great week.

The Helmsman is well-located for access to the beach, seafront and shops; it's spacious, and comfortable for a family of six, and provides easy access to a large, safe grass play area for children. We had a very enjoyable holiday at Cromer, and staying at The Helmsman really did enhance our enjoyment. We'd have no hesitation in staying there again. Our thanks to helpful and friendly owners Sue and Colin.
