This property is part of our Welcome Cottages collection

A carefully curated collection of properties that offer high quality, good value accommodation in great locations across the UK, Ireland, France and Italy

Enjoy a romantic break at Peach Tree, surrounded by lush countryside, set in the beautiful, Shropshire countryside.

These four thoughtfully designed cottages lie in a courtyard setting, on the Netley Hall Estate, in a designated area. The extensive grounds are well preserved, carefully tended and cover approximately 160 acres. Much of the grounds are free for guests to explore and the lakes on site are a haven for wildlife, and create stunning backdrops for holiday photographs. The tennis court is available for use by guests, with prior arrangement with the owners.

The cottages are located in the village of Dorrington which has a local shop, pubs/restaurants and a family butchers, and is approximately 5 miles from Shrewsbury with its black and white framed buildings, steep narrow streets and alleyways, and over 600 listed buildings. This medieval, market town boasts many bars, shops, restaurants and bistros, the Theatre Severn, Shrewsbury Castle and cruises on the River Severn. The picturesque market town of Ludlow is 20 miles away, situated on a cliff above the River Teme and hosting events and festivals throughout the year. Other places of interest and attractions within close proximity include Long Mynd with a glider centre, Church Stretton, Much Wenlock, Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre, an historic, working farm at the Acton Scott Estate, Condover Hall Activity Centre, Ironbridge and museums, Bridgnorth and National Trust’s Carding Mill Valley. Shop, pub and restaurant ¾ mile.

It was a real shame that there was so little in the cottage. Two small cooking pots with rust in them and a griddle pan, you can't fry eggs in one of those pans, no sieve etc. Tea pot for one person, nothing for coffee. fridge door missing shelf to allow bottles to be stood up. Seemed more worried about the multitude of knifes they were providing, we had reported that all the knifes on their list were not in the property as they said they would charge you if any were missing. I don't expect to have to clean crockery before I can use it, tomato sauce on plates in cupboard. No instructions on how to use any of the appliance, other than the shower, the cooker was so old the temperature markings for the oven were non existent. It's all well and good having a steam shower, however the nozzles had mold in them and when you shut the doors, once you got in, there was what looked like black mold which was not evident when the shower doors were left open. Lack of any information about local amenities, supermarkets, churches, doctors etc as provided at your other properties, what to do in the event of fire etc. Some information about tourist sites in reception, if you could find it open.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; We are extremely sorry to read that you were unhappy with the quantity of utensils provided and the cleanliness of the cottage in certain areas. We have passed your comments on to our housekeeping department to ensure that if there are any concerns with the shower they are addressed immediately. It is a shame that you did not mention these during your stay and we could have dealt with them immediately for you. Likewise if there are insufficient or unsatisfactory utensils we would have happily provided more had we been asked to do so.
