Description

Ideal for couples looking for a romantic getaway, a stay in this fabulous barn shouldn’t go a miss.

In the heart of 1066 country, set within 32 acres of farmland with corn fed pigs and sheep, you can stroll the plethora of footpaths and enjoy the beautiful Sussex countryside. Explore the historic sites the county has to offer, including the magnificent Battle Abbey, which was the subject of a famous Turner painting, and the battlefield where one of the best known events in English history occurred, and a reenactment takes place every October. Battle is an attractive market town with many restaurants tea shops, galleries and a train station which provides good connections to London for further sightseeing opportunities. A short drive takes you to the cosmopolitan seaside town of Hastings, where you can visit the ruins of Hastings castle, once home to William the Conqueror, and see the quirky buildings and iconic net huts found along The Stade. Don’t miss The Jerwood Gallery, showcasing the best of contemporary British art. The Blue Reef Aquarium, Smugglers Adventure, fish and chips and a stroll along the pier will create some great memories! The area also produces excellent award winning wines, and you can go wine tasting at Sedlescombe, Chapel Down and Carr Taylor Vineyards. Camber offers miles of golden sand dunes and the opportunity to try kite surfing and kite boarding. Good pubs, fishing and golf are all close by. Shop and restaurant 2 miles, pub 1½ miles.

The Hayloft was just what we wanted and more, we didn't know what to expect being on a farm, but we found a beautiful & modern accommodation with a lot of special touches, the owner & the farm were lovely with sheep, pigs & chics, but most of all waking up to that view! Don't delay, book this one, you won't regret It!

Our week at the Hayloft was absolutely brilliant. The cottage was immaculate, our hosts were extremely warm and welcoming and we would definitely go back there again. Situated just outside of Battle meant we were ideally placed for taking day trips out along the coast, visits to Battle Abbey and we were never too far from great places to eat and drink which came recommended to us by the owners of the cottage. A fabulous place and a wonderful break.
