Description

Ideal for couples looking for a romantic getaway, a stay in this fabulous barn shouldn’t go a miss.

Battle is an attractive market town with many restaurants tea shops, galleries and a train station which provides good connections to London for further sightseeing opportunities. A short drive takes you to the cosmopolitan seaside town of Hastings, where you can visit the ruins of Hastings castle, once home to William the Conqueror, and see the quirky buildings and iconic net huts found along The Stade. Don’t miss The Jerwood Gallery, showcasing the best of contemporary British art. The Blue Reef Aquarium, Smugglers Adventure, fish and chips and a stroll along the pier will create some great memories! The area also produces excellent award winning wines, and you can go wine tasting at Sedlescombe, Chapel Down and Carr Taylor Vineyards. I would recommend The Hayloft to anyone who wants to stay in the area, the location is ideal to visit the surrounding towns and viklages and the cottage provides all you need to stay for as long as you need.

Amazing working farm. Clair and Ed are very approachable and happy to help. We bought some lovely meat from the farm shop. The local White Hart pub is a must for roast on a Sunday, might be the best I have ever had! Value wise its a winner and was so nice to get away and actually relax for a few days.

Beautifully appointed, spotlessly clean and perfect for our weekend away. Really comfortable bed and sofa, well equipped kitchen, lovely shower room. Nice extra touches like the obscuring on the windows allowing light in but maintaining privacy. The only additions which would be helpful would be manuals for the dishwasher and the heating controls as they were guesswork.

Fabulous week spent in the autumn sun at the Hayloft. All appliances, furnishings and fittings are great quality and the presentation in the cottage is excellent. Everything you could want is provided; very well equipped kitchen, fluffy towels, rainfall shower. .... The finish is that of a 5* hotel! The view from the garden is amazing and peaceful. Beautiful to watch the sunrise with your morning coffee! To say it is a working farm it is still very quiet. The occasional "moo"! The location is good too. About 20 mins from Hastings. Local pubs The White Hart and The Squirrel do very good meals and are very dog friendly. It is equally nice to have a night in though. I imagine on cooler nights the log burner makes it very cosy. I could go on and on! This little cottage is an absolute gem. I would love to visit again ...if it isn't fully booked! Thank you for a lovely week! Louise, Gary and Ollie. PS. Sorry we couldn't leave a note in the guest book! We didn't have a pen!

Had a great long weekend at the Hayloft which was very comfortable and beautifully presented. The nearby town of Battle has plenty to see and visit, as well as pubs and cafes with lovely food. You will need a car as the cottage is quite a way from the town.

Beautifully furnished and brilliantly equiped holiday cottage. Cottage has a large patio which was very welcome in the hot weather we had during our stay. The living room is airy and comfortable with a 40 inch flat screen smart tv. Wifi is very reliable and more than sufficient for streaming Netflix. Kitchen has every utensil you need for cooking and has all the modcons even a dishwasher which was most welcome. Bedroom has a large comfy bed and the attached wet room with over head shower is great. The cottage is located close to many south coast attrations such as Hastings, Eastbourne, Rye, Beachy Head, Seven Sisters and Brighton. Nearby Battle village has a number of nice places to eat and has a station within 1 hours train ride to London. Set in peaceful country side it is a great place to unwind after a days sightseeing and to take strolls around the vecinity and farm itself. All in all we had a wonderful stay and would recommend to all.
