This was our sixth visit to the lodges and this fabulous location. All the lodges are beautifully equipped with wonderful viewing to the lakes through the long overlooking windows. Peaceful and quiet a place to relax with good trout fly fishing we just love this place wonderfully maintained by the most friendly owners, can't wait to go back again.

The lodge is very new, modern and clean, beside a lovely little lake with fishing possibilities, tucked away in a small valley down a narrow lane from the village, very idyllic , there are lovely walking possibilities right from the doorstep, we walked up Moel Famau to the tower fort from there one day-beautiful views. there is plenty of other places and things to do nearby, seaside half hour and Snowdonia about an hours drive but lots locally in the area, having only 3 days we found too much to choose from and not enough time! As we were 4 staying 2 adults and 2 teenagers, we found the lodge a bit too small for us as only 1 bedroom and the kids had a pull-out sofa bed which was the only comfrey arm chair in the living area a comfrey blow-up bed was also provided but it filled a lot of space and as our boys were older they had a bed each but it meant a lot of making and unmaking beds and faffing about, it functioned for us but some may not want the bother. The only thing that let the cottage down as a whole was the lack of kitchen utensils and extra plates/bowls etc in order to fill the dishwasher up or have for next morning before putting on, there were no pan lids and no large serving bowls, cooking pots or something simple to make filter coffee in or just simple essentials like cling film, salt and pepper, a clothes drying rack, there was also no washing machine and we were missing instruction manuals for the dishwasher and cooker which was gas. we have stayed in many cottages and this was by far the least equipped, I'm sure the owners would be happy to have a look at what was missing and supplement up. We managed without for although we did cook every day, it would not deter us from staying again as it was a lovely place.
