We stayed for 4 nights in Eskdale, a one bedroomed cottage. It was small but cosy and fine for 2 people. Dogs are accepted. The cottage was well equipped and warm. The nearest shop is about 3 miles away in Glaisdale and Whitby is 12 miles away. There are plenty of public footpaths accessible from the cottage but a warning that some of the paths going across the moors disappear into boggy heather and the going can be very difficult.

Nice cottage, but very rural location, lots of places to go walking. Just not accessible for coming and going.

Cottage comfy if small, but everything you could need is provided. Lighting in all rooms not adequate for reading, even in the summer. Lovely location with stunning views and surrounding scenery.
