Description

Enjoy a lovely seaside holiday with a group of friends or family at this property, close to the beach at Lytham St Annes.

Mulberry Cottage (ref W44198) and Mulberry House (ref 30325) are located next door to each other, and are situated in the heart of beautiful Lytham St Annes. Benefiting from off road parking and being right on the doorstep of all the town’s shops, bars and restaurants, this is the ideal holiday base from which to explore all that the popular coastal town of Lytham and the surrounding area has to offer. The properties provide comfortable accommodation with all the comforts guests would expect from a holiday home. One of the most popular and cosmopolitan towns along the Fylde Coast, and voted one of the best places to live in the UK, Lytham is perfect for families who like to be active. It is a great area for walking and cycling, and there is a wide choice of entertainment and leisure facilities, which includes 5 championship golf courses, as well as facilities for sailing, bowling and swimming. Due to its proximity to the reeds and marshes of the Ribble Estuary, the area is also popular with birdwatchers and wildlife lovers. As a complete contrast, the bright lights of Blackpool, with its famous tower, Pleasure Beach, zoo, Sea Life Centre and Sandcastle Waterpark, is just 9 miles away. Other towns worth visiting on the north west coast include Thornton Cleveleys and Fleetwood, whose designer shopping outlet is very popular. Should you fancy a change from the stunning coastal scenery, there are so many other places to visit that are within easy reach, thanks to its proximity to the motorway network via the M55 and M6. The Ribble Valley, Forest of Bowland AONB, the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District are all very accessible and can be reached in just under an hour. Lytham hosts many popular events throughout the year, including the famous Lytham Proms, which takes place at the beginning of August, making it the ideal year round coastal destination. Beach ½ mile. Shop, pub and restaurant 300 yards.

We had a great time , just a short stay for a birthday celebration . We had two cars and arrived in Lytham in the morning so parking was the only down side . Thanks for the other special touches of milk and fizz . Will recommend to our friends and family

Mulberry Cottage is a lovely cottage and in an ideal situation. The only criticism I have and its a big one is the beds. The beds are awful, they are so hard and you can feel the springs. My husband who will pretty much sleep anywhere found them to be so uncomfortable he went out and bought duvets and a mattress protector for the double bed but he still ended up on the sofa. Unfortunately the sofa only takes one or I would have joined him.

Response on behalf of the owner. The comments re the beds are noted. We will test the beds when we are next at the cottage and do what we consider necessary. Any constructive suggestions are always welcome.

We really enjoyed our stay at Mulberry cottage which has been equipped to a very high standard. However a couple of complaints would be that the quality of the beds let the accommodation down. Unfortunately we found them very uncomfortable and you could feel springs through the mattresses. Also the double bed would benefit from being a King as we are a very tall family we struggled with a standard double. The parking was somewhat of a problem therefore for anyone with mobility problems I would not recommend this accommodation as at times we had to park quite a walk away.

Great location, near to bars, restaurants, shops and seafront. Easy on-street parking. Owners very friendly and helpful without being intrusive. It would have been 10/10 if there had been hangers, mirrors in all bedrooms, batteries in remotes, better quality wardrobes and floors swept. Therefore, all points are minor and easily fixable so wouldn't stop so us from staying again. Top tips: leave a note on display in your car to let other residents know you are staying on that street. Get the bus into Blackpool, £5 for 24hr ticket including trams. Fab restaurants that we tried: Novello's, Bosco, Whelans Fish & Chips, Queens Hotel
