Lowe Farmhouse and Much Dewchurch Holiday Cottages are situated within the peaceful surroundings of 230-acres of fields, woodland and lakes of a working arable farm, with panoramic views of the Black Mountains, perfect for long rambling walks. Lowe Farmhouse (ref 28057) is a spacious holiday property which has been renovated and offers accommodation for families, friends and groups for special occasions, which has the added benefit of a great spacious games room. Added extras and fine details, such as robes and slippers make for a memorable holiday. Adjacent to a courtyard of the four lovely Much Dewchurch Cottages (refs 19861, 19862, 19863 and 19864), converted from the old Scudamore racing stables, converted back in the late nineties, they are set in the beautiful Herefordshire countryside with panoramic views over The Black Mountains. The village has a 14th century pub just a 10-minute walk from the house and cottages, and the local shop is just 1 mile away.

On site there is a partly wooded, 5-acre ‘fun combat ground’, dedicated to paintballing and various outdoor activities including archery, lazer tag, air gun shooting and clay pigeon shooting, supervised by enthusiastic and energetic marshals, with a pub just down the road to regale one another with tales of bravery and compare ‘war wounds’ at the end of a hard day in the woods! These activities and more are available by direct arrangement with the owner (at cost).

Perfectly located for exploring the surrounding area with the cathedral city of Hereford approximately 5 miles, with its Mappi Mundi Centre and chained library, theatre, cinema, leisure centre, Hereford horse racing course and shops. Visit the pretty market town of Ross-on-Wye in the heart of the Wye Valley, Hay-on-Wye renowned for its literary festival and known as the book capital of the world and Ludlow, famous for its culinary treats and fine foods. Brecon town and the stunning scenery of the Brecon Beacons National Park is within easy driving distance. Symonds Yat and Yat Rock is worth a visit and well known for its nesting peregrine falcons and wonderful views of the Wye Valley. Fishing, canoeing, climbing, golf and riding can all be found within the local area. There are numerous places of historical interest to visit, with many castles, museums, historical houses and ancient churches. For a great get away to rural England, Herefordshire offers a wonderful opportunity. Shops 1½ miles and pubs ½ mile. Properties 19861, 19862, 19863, 19864 and 28057 can be booked together to accommodate larger parties.

We spent a couple of nights at Wild Honey with our dogs and it was a great base for exploring the area. The super-friendly owner came and introduced himself not long after we arrived and gave us some great local area information as we were looking at possibly moving to Herefordshire and were on a recce. The accommodation is very clean, lovely and warm and downstairs is very spacious with the kitchen containing plenty enough with which to cook. Upstairs is cosy but has low beams for the taller amongst us. Remember to duck in places. The shower/bath are lovely and warm. Remember to bring all your provisions as there is no local shop, but we heard great things about the dog-friendly pub, which sadly we never managed to get to. There is no noise at all from the adjoining cottages and we were allowed to take our dogs roaming around the edges of the vast expanse of land belonging to the farm. Dogs can be off the lead providing they don't disturb the sheep in nearby fields. We relaxed and enjoyed our time in the cottage. Just one observation - please please please put a coat of varnish on the outside windows and doors to give more kerb appeal - it won't take long!

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, we very much appreciate it. We’re glad you enjoyed your time with us and hope you saw enough of Herefordshire to make a decision on your future. It really is a beautiful place. The varnishing of the cottages is already scheduled in once the warmer months come. Kind Regards Micaela & Handley.

Quiet, restful. But bedroom in eaves low. Ok for us, but could be a hazard for taller folk.
