Sudeley Castle is within walking distance, while the Cotswold Way is close by, Prescott Hill Climb Course is nearby.

Set in a row, Mouse Hole Cottage is a characterful holiday property dating from the 17th Century. Located in the centre of the ancient Saxon town of Winchcombe, mid-way between Broadway and Cheltenham, it is the perfect base for exploring the Cotswolds AONB. The name Winchcombe means ’valley with a bend’, and today the town still retains streets which curve gracefully along the ’combe’. The inns, restaurants, tea rooms and shops set among Winchcombe’s three main streets are full of the character of times past. Stroll through the historic market town, walk to the famous Sudeley Castle with its beautiful gardens, now one of the premier tourist attractions in the north Cotswolds, or ramble in rolling hills including the Cotswold Way. The towns of Broadway, Moreton-in-Marsh, Stow-on-the-Wold and Chipping Campden are within easy reach, while Regency Cheltenham is just 8 miles. The famous racecourse at Prestbury Park is a big attraction for National Hunt fans, and the Prescott Hill climb Course holds motoring events at various times throughout the year. Golf can also be found nearby. Shops, pubs and restaurants 400 yards.

Ground floor: Living room with beams. Dining room. Kitchen. Conservatory. Shower room with toilet. First floor: 3 bedrooms: 2 double (one 5 ft), 1 twin. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

Woodburner in living room (initial fuel included). Gas central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Travel cot. High chair. Freesat TV. DVD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washer/dryer. A really well-equipped and comfortable cottage that is well located, close to the excellent shops, pubs, restaurants and oher facilities of Winchcombe, which is a delightful town with some really friendly and welcoming residents. There is a bus stop close to the cottage, where you can catch a bus into Cheltenham, so you do not have to totally rely on a car. We were told that there are some lovely walks nearby, although we were unable, due to restricted mobility, to take advantage of these. There is an excellent deli (Food Fanatics) that also serves meals and "The Lion" and "Plaisterer's Arms" also sell good food. Budgens and The Co-op are both close by. A really enjoyable holiday - our best yet in the Cotswolds.

We liked Winchcombe, and the cottage was clean and provided good facilities with only one exception - parking. The garage was too small for our Range Rover Evoque, so we had to park in the council long-stay parking. This was not a problem for us. The problem arose when our son came for a visit. As there was an event on in the town and the car parks were all full, we suggested that he should come and park in front of our garage. He did so - in a way which did not obstruct the access to the next garage. We went into town but then I had to return home - and found the next door neighbour's wife in a very angry state about my son having parked there. She then left in her car which she obviously was able to get out of the garage without difficulty. When I came out of the house the husband then raged at me about the car. I stayed calm and assured him that we would not be parking there again. A couple of hours later he came out again and ranted about the car still being there. Subsequently we felt intimidated and would not consider staying there again because of the rude and angry neighbours.
