Go south to Looe, 13 miles, for a sandy beach, interesting Monkey Sanctuary and the South West Coast Path. Head west to Bodmin, 6 miles, for a golf course and Lanhydrock House (National Trust), with its 450-acre grounds, or north towards the coast at Tintagel. There is horse riding at Denby, 7½ miles, and Wadebridge is 13 miles. Travel north 18 miles to Padstow and Newquay.
