We had a four night break at the end of February with our dogs and two other people. The cottage and grounds are perfect for dogs, with a securely fenced garden and there are lots of footpaths nearby. We found the cottage very comfortable. There was only one thing that we all disliked which was the lack of side/reading lights in the main living area, which made it impossible to read at night time.

Was a lovely location and cottage. Kitchen is missing a few bits which you'd expect in the average kitchen, and landlord is impossible to get hold of. Would still recommend staying though.

Lovely cottage. Beautiful scenery shame the weather was against us. We would definitely come back.

upon arrival we were very disappointed, the first thing we noticed was that the garden wasn't enclosed for small dogs as stated, the dogs could get under the big gaps at the bottom of the fence, and with sheep the other side of the fence this was not good. when we walked into the cottage it was freezing cold (although we notified what time we would be arriving). also the kitchen looked very basic, dated and shabby, the worktops were worn with the pattern being worn off in parts, the chopping boards where very worn with a lot of the backing peeled off, the hob was old, you couldn't see the picture of which hob to put on and the back left one did not work at all, no tea towels, oven gloves or any basic stuff we have had in 3 star cottages, a lot of the floor tiles were cracked, the sofa's and chairs in the lounge area were very uncomfortable, old and grubby looking, there was no instruments to tend to the log fire (nothing to clean it out with, no glove to open the door and nothing to poke it with) also it had not been cleaned out from previous occupants. The French doors from the lounge were all scratched, the windows were filthy as was the wood frame of the large feature window with dead flies covering it, this window would also benefit from blinds when the weather is nice as the sun beams in, must be unbearable in the summer. There was no vacuum or brush to clean up as we went along. The light fittings were cheap, dirty and understated. Paint was missing off the walls in the upstairs bathroom and all 3 toilet seats moved when you sat on them. The garden table and chairs we very scruffy with all the stain coming off, bbq left uncovered. The Velux window in the bedroom I don't think had ever been cleaned. Instruction manuals and welcome folder, were dirty and just thrown into a drawer I would rate the actual building as a 4 star as stated but everything else was 2 star, I do not think this has been updated or had anything replaced since 2012 when it was converted and the photo's were probably taken, really disappointing.

We followed the instructions down a track and could see the delightful cottage once we turned the corner, the key was trustingly left outside. The whole time we were there we only saw a friendly farmer once feeding his cattle. It was the perfect location for us and our family and dogs, we sat in the fenced garden over a BBQ at night knowing our dogs were completely secure. We could watch the cows grazing two fields away it was absolutely perfect. The famous butterfly trail is close by where we enjoyed many days just walking the dogs with a lunch time picnic. The cottage itself is homely spacious and comfortable where you see no cars or people, I can’t wait to return, it’s the perfect location if you want peace and quiet.
