Very pleasant location with lovely walks, especially for dog owners. Good food at the local pub, The Moon. Kitchen fascilities were average, e.g. The dishwasher performance was not up to scratch and the hob was slow. The acoustics within the cottage were not good due in part to the high ceiling and the absence of a door between the living area and the bedrooms. The general comfort was good and we enjoyed our stay.

Worked very well for my family of 8 (and 2 dogs), having a pre-Christmas get together weekend. Easy to find, very warm and cosy.

Lovely cottage, rural location but beautiful views and walks nearby. Perfect for family gathering. Lovely character, photos don't do it justice. Just need new frying pans! Would stay again, great place.

Beautiful converted barn in a fantastic location. Welcoming and relaxed hosts, who provided good information about local pubs and walks which we made good use of. The kitchen was well stocked with equipment, there was wood for the wood burner which kept it very cosy. The living area was perfect for all of us to socialise. Overall a perfect place to enjoy the countryside!

Great Cottage very nicely converted from a tumble down barn. We very much enjoyed the stay and would go again.

Lovely cottage. Very well equipped. Lovely thick towels. Comfy beds. Accepts dogs, which is great. They farm pheasants for shoots in the field next to the cottage. Instructions tell you can walk dog in field. But when we walked the dog in the field overlooking the cottage, farmers son came and insulted us and swore at us and told us to leave field and accused us of chasing the pheasants (which we were not) so we were shaken and upset. Not what we had hoped for!

A fabulous cottage to spend a week in. It was homely, family and dog friendly. The locals were very friendly and we enjoyed visiting many places. I would definitely recommend Moss Cottage and will probably book again in the future.

Moss Cottage is in a quiet rural location , ideal for walkers . It is very private and is off the beaten track so “ sat. nav.”was useful . It is a good base for exploring the area , and has lovely views from an escarpment at the top of the hill , with a myriad of lanes to walk. A compact , well - equipped and well -used holiday home with some interesting features .

Moss Cottage is in a private location, is not overlooked but does have a public footpath across the adjacent field. The bedrooms aren't huge (the double room in particular is quite tight) but this isn't a massive issue. Be aware that the downstairs bathroom is also quite small and is not suitable for the very infirm - the shower cubicle is the smallest I've seen in a while but the building was a barn and they've done a good job in fitting the shower room into the space. Other reviewers have mentioned that the cottage is warm - we had two days of fabulous sunshine and the cottage was like a green house - but it's ok when you're there and you can open the windows and the patio doors to cool down or sit on the patio with the umbrella up, which was lovely. We booked our holiday quite late and got a good rate for the week, but I think what we paid was fair and if we'd paid full price the Value for Money rating would have been lower - sorry. Not quite the "luxury" finish I was expecting, but still good considering the price.

Overall we had a lovely stay at moss cottage. Clean & well equipped kitchen. Very warm & welcoming. The location was good, the only downside was the local pub had closed down - so the website needs updating. A couple of minus points - but nothing major... No butter dish for the butter in the welcome pack No tin foil to line the grill.... so take some with you Upstairs shower pressure is more of a dribble, but downstairs shower was great. A couple of games would have been handy
