upon arrival we were very disappointed, the first thing we noticed was that the garden wasn't enclosed for small dogs as stated, the dogs could get under the big gaps at the bottom of the fence, and with sheep the other side of the fence this was not good. when we walked into the cottage it was freezing cold (although we notified what time we would be arriving). also the kitchen looked very basic, dated and shabby, the worktops were worn with the pattern being worn off in parts, the chopping boards where very worn with a lot of the backing peeled off, the hob was old, you couldn't see the picture of which hob to put on and the back left one did not work at all, no tea towels, oven gloves or any basic stuff we have had in 3 star cottages, a lot of the floor tiles were cracked, the sofa's and chairs in the lounge area were very uncomfortable, old and grubby looking, there was no instruments to tend to the log fire (nothing to clean it out with, no glove to open the door and nothing to poke it with) also it had not been cleaned out from previous occupants. The French doors from the lounge were all scratched, the windows were filthy as was the wood frame of the large feature window with dead flies covering it, this window would also benefit from blinds when the weather is nice as the sun beams in, must be unbearable in the summer. There was no vacuum or brush to clean up as we went along. The light fittings were cheap, dirty and understated. Paint was missing off the walls in the upstairs bathroom and all 3 toilet seats moved when you sat on them. The garden table and chairs we very scruffy with all the stain coming off, bbq left uncovered. The Velux window in the bedroom I don't think had ever been cleaned. Instruction manuals and welcome folder, were dirty and just thrown into a drawer I would rate the actual building as a 4 star as stated but everything else was 2 star, I do not think this has been updated or had anything replaced since 2012 when it was converted and the photo's were probably taken, really disappointing.

We followed the instructions down a track and could see the delightful cottage once we turned the corner, the key was trustingly left outside. The whole time we were there we only saw a friendly farmer once feeding his cattle. It was the perfect location for us and our family and dogs, we sat in the fenced garden over a BBQ at night knowing our dogs were completely secure. We could watch the cows grazing two fields away it was absolutely perfect. The famous butterfly trail is close by where we enjoyed many days just walking the dogs with a lunch time picnic. The cottage itself is homely spacious and comfortable where you see no cars or people, I can’t wait to return, it’s the perfect location if you want peace and quiet.

An ideal place for a quiet getaway. Welcome pack a bonus. Could do with more shelves as all but one bedroom unable to accommodate sufficient wardrobe space.

We stayed here for a long weekend for my brother's 30th birthday. We were a mixed age group with 2 young children. The cottage has lovely views across fields (beware of the cows!) and space to play/eat outside that is enclosed. It was easy to access and we were given good directions beforehand. The downstairs living space is large, bedrooms on the small side but not an issue as only for sleeping in. A nice welcome package was there on arrival and the kitchen was very well equipped.

This place is gorgeous, it’s so peaceful and I was very sad to leave. Will 100% book again! The cottage is equipped with everything you need, in a stunning location with no neighbours in sight. Although there are very friendly visitors (a herd of cows) that like to come and say hello a few times a day. The wildlife around is amazing! Not got a bad word to say about this gorgeous home from home!

Perfect location for a relaxing walking break with 3 dogs, cottage had everything we needed and a lovely added extra of a welcome pack on arrival. Nice walks into the pub at Mordiford. Will be re visiting next year.

Very pleasant location with lovely walks, especially for dog owners. Good food at the local pub, The Moon. Kitchen fascilities were average, e.g. The dishwasher performance was not up to scratch and the hob was slow. The acoustics within the cottage were not good due in part to the high ceiling and the absence of a door between the living area and the bedrooms. The general comfort was good and we enjoyed our stay.

Worked very well for my family of 8 (and 2 dogs), having a pre-Christmas get together weekend. Easy to find, very warm and cosy.

Lovely cottage, rural location but beautiful views and walks nearby. Perfect for family gathering. Lovely character, photos don't do it justice. Just need new frying pans! Would stay again, great place.
