Dating back to the 1600’s, originally a dairy farm and now a beef, cattle, and sheep enterprise, the beautiful holiday accommodation boasts five cosy semi-detached barn conversions (refs W43982, 30769, 30770, 30771 and 30772) in an idyllic farmyard setting, and four restful shepherds hut retreats (each with their own private bathroom facilities nearby, refs 30773, 30774 and 30775) located in the owner’s breathtaking valley gardens. All beautifully furnished and nestled at the foot of the glorious, majestic Wrekin Hill. In an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Morrells Wood Farm is ’that perfect get away!’ Indeed, many regard the views from this vale of tranquillity as ’little Switzerland’, and as its name sake, the panoramic scenery is stunning. The central location makes it the perfect base if a day or two exploring (or longer) is on the agenda. If not, then simply enjoy Mother Nature at its best whatever the season. Shropshire is a beautiful county, which is becoming more and more popular with tourists, with towns like Much Wenlock, Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth and Ludlow, which are all easy to get to from Morrells Wood Farm. The relaxed pace of countryside life is complemented by a huge amount to see and do. You can enjoy Ironbridge Gorge and its museums or a trip to Wroxeter Roman city and the nearby vineyard. There are 4 National Trust properties within an hour’s drive, the closest being Attingham Park, then Powys Castle, Chirk and Dudmaston are slightly further afield but make for a great day out exploring the Welsh Borders. Ludlow Castle, food centre and racecourse, the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre and Acton Scott working farm are all popular tourist attractions. The Glider Centre on the top of the Longmynd and Cardingmill valley are not to be missed, and for the more adventurous there are nearby outdoor attractions from quad trekking, mountain boarding, zip wire, high ropes, clay pigeon shoots and archery. Shop 3 miles, restaurant and pub 1¼ miles.

Great place! Welcoming hosts, friendly sheep dog, quaint and pretty cottage with a very cosy feel. We enjoyed the local area making the most of days out at Ironbridge, Victorian museum, tile museum, the Severn valley railway, Much Wenlock, Cosford air museum,Bridgnorth and Shrewsbury's famous market hall. Not bad for 7 days. It had everything you need to escape from the trials of fast-paced living to step back, indulge in rest, whilst putting yourself first for a change. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others and hoping to be able to return sometime. Thanks to Derek and family and Molly the dog once again. Heather and Peter, Northumberland
