Cottage was spacious and comfortable. George and Barbara were very nice hosts. Was a peaceful and tranquil with amazing views over the moors. We enjoyed a nice rest at cottage. Only downsides the Wi-fi did not work(which isn't an essential-but beware if you have kids who live for wifi) and the directions to the cottage were poor - the cottage is up a steep hill which is not sign posted apart from a t junction so not sure if we were going right way or not. Also forgotten how hilly North Devon is as there are steep inclines and hairpin turns which my little 1100 car struggled to cope with. There is garage at Barbrook very nice friendly staff but closes at 7pm. The pub Beggars roost has very nice food. Nearest supermarket was in Ilfracombe as the local shops seems to close early. Overall was nice cottage and luckily had nice weather.

The cottage is part of a 16th century farmhouse, and as such is a genuine historical building, the location is what is special, right on Exmoor in a very small farming hamlet, very quiet and peaceful, nearest place for sundries is the petrol station in Barock. If you are looking for shops on the doorstep this is not for you. If you want somewhere that you are made welcome and can totally unwind then it is perfect!
