lovely cottage with amazing views of the river & mountains. Good sized fully enclosed back garden. Very comfortable beds & well equipped kitchen. Could benefit with having more paved or decked area with garden furniture. 2 miles from Fort William lovely walk & close to Neptune’s staircase. Highly recommend this cottage.

Fortunately we chose a week of almost unbroken sunshine. Our beagle lay in the sun from early morning. Excellent situation overlooking the river and Ben Nevis with a service station just around the corner for newspapers, a Farm Foods for milk and in my case 3 Toblerone ice creams for £1.99 when a sweet in a restaurant was in excess of £5.50! The walk into Fort William along the footpath starting at the other side of the bridge was an almost daily jaunt and with dog in tow we welcomed the outside dog friendly coffee shop above Nevisport. Our walk was timed to take photos of the steam engine as it passed over the river and we also saw it at Bonavie when visiting Neptune's staircase for a canal walk. Ignore the Trip advisor listing of restaurants. Our choice for value, food quality and atmosphere was Wetherspoons. Some places just do not justify sky high prices for mediocre fare. Fort William offers much to do provided weather is favourable. The owner was very pleasant and we often had a chat with her 'over the garden fence'.
