Dating back to the early 1900s, Millside Cottage was used to store tobacco as part of the Helsington Laithes Marble and Snuff Mill. This warm and inviting cottage is immaculately presented, ideal for a small family or couples seeking a peaceful retreat but close to amenities. The cottage is all on one level, with a spacious kitchen/dining room. A dining table and chairs are provided for everyone to dine together. With views of the countryside, the homely living room is located to the rear of the property. It has plenty of comfy seating and a Smart TV, so you can enjoy cosy evenings watching your favourite movies. The hallway also leads to two bedrooms, one with a double bed and large wardrobe, and the other with a versatile zip and link bed. This stylish and modern shower room is fully tiled and consists of a shower cubicle, sink with vanity unit and LED mirror. The garden is not overlooked and has a small lawned area, BBQ area, patio area and garden furniture where you can dine al fresco.

Kendal has an abundance of well-known high street brands mixed with several independent retailers, coffee shops, cafés, delis, bars, and restaurants. With a weekly outdoor market selling anything from local crafts to clothing, as well as a permanent indoor market open daily, you’ll find plenty on your doorstep to fill your days. Visit Kendal Museum, dating back to 1796, which houses historical archaeology and the largest taxidermy collection in Europe. Abbott Hall is ideal for art lovers, set in picturesque grounds on the bank of the River Kent. Other historic sites include Kendal Castle dating back to the 12th century.

Kendal is an old market town famous for its annual Mountain Festival, the ultimate social gathering for all those who love the outdoors. It is is also famous for its mint cake, the first energy bar produced over 100 years ago. In just 20 minutes by car, you can reach Windermere, and in 30 minutes, Ambleside. These popular tourist hotspots are ideal for a day out to shop, eat, drink, and make the most of the natural beauty that Lake Windermere offers. There is also a regular bus service to Windermere, Ambleside, and Keswick from the bus top in town. A 30-minute drive will also take you to the Yorkshire Dales. The waterfall trail and caves at Ingleton are extremely popular tourist spots particularly for those who love the outdoors. There’s so much to see and do in this area you will be spoilt for choice.
