Description

Relax in your very own hot tub overlooking a brook whilst at this wonderful holiday lodge, located on the Wales/England border.

Located on Welsh/English border

These three very attractive detached holiday lodges (refs W43690, W43691 and W43692) are set together in a small cluster in the most peaceful location on the edge of Llangunllo near Knighton. The lodges boast their own private hot tubs and sit in 2 acres of grounds. The original Mill Race wet area is inside the grounds, which may be wet or dry depending on the weather. Knighton is an area best known for its association with Offa’s Dyke, but due to the town being partly in Wales and partly in Shropshire, there are many nearby attractions, including, in Wales, the red kite feeding station, the Judges Lodgings, Spaceguard Centre, Elan Valley and Powys Castle. In Shropshire, nearby places include The Secret Hills Discovery Centre, Acton Scott Working Farm, Clun, Stokesay, Ludlow Castle, Ludlow Racecourse, Attingham Park and Ironbridge. Shop 7 miles, pub 250 yards.

A fabulous lodge. Wonderful hot tub. Big pity it’s not near any immediate attractions. Minimum of 30 minute drive needed.

Idyllic setting, friendly owners and away from everything yet only a short drive from shops and pubs (or a short walk if you only want a drink). The property was spacious and had everything we needed and felt very private, we would use again if in the area.

Great accommodation, clean, modern, spacious and lovely quiet setting. Owners were helpful, and allowed us earlier entry. Really enjoyed our stay, the sunshine helped too! Would definitely recommend if you want a quiet break. WiFi is poor, but understand owners do not advertise it as having great WiFi. Can get it in certain areas-not an issue for us at all. Only minor negatives were that due to the cleaning of hot tub, it was not up to temperature until very late on the Friday evening. Also the fridge and freezer were not on so took some time to get cold.

We wanted a real break, with the minimum of hassle, and that's what we got. The cottage is stunningly beautiful when you first walk in, and probably the best-equipped cottage I've ever stayed at. Surrounded by scenic hills, dark skies and sheep, with nothing to interrupt us bar one jealous squirrel who lobbed acorn husks at us in the hot tub. I've marked down local amenities because there are nearly none unless you travel into Knighton - but that's really no criticism, as it is what we wanted. We will be returning for sure - the family is already trying to co-ordinate dates for next year. But next time we'll only bring a third of the stuff we carried this year, because everything is already there.

The lodge is perfect if you want a relaxing and peaceful break. It is well equipped and easily accommodated our party of 6 adults. We were lucky to have sunny days and clear nights and enjoyed star gazing from the hot tub.

The owners was very welcoming and accommodating during our stay. The place is everything you could ask for being remote, peaceful, beautiful scenery and fantastic living accommodation. Yes limited wifi but that's what holidays are for, to get away from reality for a short while. Would definitely recommend.
