Description

Located on the Welsh/English border, this holiday lodge is in a peaceful location, a great base for discovering mid Wales and Shropshire.

Located on Welsh/English border

These three very attractive detached holiday lodges (refs W43690, W43691 and W43692) are set together in a small cluster in the most peaceful location on the edge of Llangunllo near Knighton. The lodges boast their own private hot tubs and sit in 2 acres of grounds. The original Mill Race wet area is inside the grounds, which may be wet or dry depending on the weather. Knighton is an area best known for its association with Offa’s Dyke, but due to the town being partly in Wales and partly in Shropshire, there are many nearby attractions, including, in Wales, the red kite feeding station, the Judges Lodgings, Spaceguard Centre, Elan Valley and Powys Castle. In Shropshire, nearby places include The Secret Hills Discovery Centre, Acton Scott Working Farm, Clun, Stokesay, Ludlow Castle, Ludlow Racecourse, Attingham Park and Ironbridge. Shop 7 miles, pub 250 yards.

Overall a good level of accommodation, areas of improvement could be more privacy around the hot tub which is overlooked by the Lodge 1, Kitchen equipment is well used and could do with replacement, knives and chopping boards etc. For the size and berth of the property a larger fridge would have been beneficial, These are small details in an otherwise very well presented property, Location is good if you like walking otherwise you would need to be reliant on a car to get to nearest town etc.... not uncommon for Wales, We were greeted and looked after well on our stay. we would return.

Beautiful holiday house! Stunning setting and great to have a hot tub and sauna. Comfy beds. Not really anything to do in local area but that suited us fine. Limited WiFi. Only one thing that could be improved is larger and more pots and pans as the ones provided were not large enough to cook for 6 people. But other than that minor thing the place is beautiful, clean, peaceful and we had a very relaxing break!! Plus as there is not much in the local area their is limited light pollution so the star gazing is amazing on a clear night!

Lovely lodge in a beautiful setting away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Excellent facilities with disabled access. Recommend.

A lovely lodge and friendly welcome from Tony. We hope to return but will probably try for Lodge 3 to be by the river. A couple of thoughts from us to make a stay even more comfortable would be better knives ( slicing onions was really difficult with all the ones provided!) and more mugs and glasses as we alway seemed to be washing them up.
