Semi-detached, this cottage lies amidst the foothills of Blackdown Hill and is within easy reach of the magnificent Jurassic Coast.

Mill Pond Cottage is located in the pretty mid-Devon village of Uffculme and offers a well-appointed and well-presented place to stay during your visit to the area. With the added bonus of an enclosed courtyard garden backing onto the surrounding countryside, the cottage has plenty to offer. It is located within walking distance of the village’s pub and shops, and there are also walks from the doorstep into the surrounding countryside. The cottage is located a short distance from Uffculme’s restored woollen mill at Coldharbour, which is well worth a visit.
Mill Pond Cottage is conveniently situated for access to all major roads and a host of visitor attractions. Dartmoor, Exmoor, Lynton, Lynmouth, Lyme Regis, Seaton and Sidmouth are all close by, and Tiverton, a bustling market town straddling the River Exe, is just 8 miles away. Knighthayes Court, Bicton Botanical Park, the Tarka Line, several golf courses, Quad World and plenty of opportunities for swimming, golf, horse riding, cycling and fishing are all easily accessible. The cathedral city of Exeter is 22 miles, and the numerous amenities of Taunton are 17 miles. Diggerland and various National Trust properties are within easy reach.
With the River Exe, Devonshire Heartland, Somerset and the North Devon coastline on your doorstep, the property is situated in an excellent countryside location, offering a good base to explore this beautiful area. It is also within easy driving distance of Exmoor National Park and the Devon and Somerset border. Crealy Adventure Park is great day out for the children, with rides and animals, and there is something for all ages. The Jurassic Coast is just 17 miles away; the coastal path offers walkers stunning views, with a bird’s eye view of many coastal features. From the coastal path you can experience the drama of sheer cliff faces, taking in Sidmouth, Budleigh Salterton, Seaton, Beer and Lyme Regis. The Jurassic Coast is ideal for exploring on foot, bicycle or on horseback. Branscombe is a haven for walkers, with a cluster of thatched and stone cottages nestling alongside a narrow lane at the bottom of a wooded valley. Visit Paignton Zoo, which covers 75 acres, and the Dart Valley Steam Railway. Beach 20 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

    Very good, everything you could wish for. A contact number for local assistance would be good. Only one key to the property, the number on the booking form was for the property itself, if we had mislaid the key, or locked ourselves out, it could have been awkward! Thank you though!

    Mill Pond Cottage is easy to find and convenient from the motorway. It's in a quiet location - the only people we saw were the neighbours and the local dog walkers. It is a pet friendly house but there is no indication that pets have been there. The house is clean, tidy and has everything you could need for a week's holiday.

    Warm welcome with generous arrival package Unfortunately cooker cleanliness was not up to standard and lounge carpet was badly stained Garden furniture really needs upgrading Otherwise house was very comfortable

    I wouldn't stay in the cottage again because there is no phone signal there. The wifi was intermittent and slow in the evenings and on a couple of occasions the TV signal disappeared. I appreciate that being rural it may not be fast wifi but the description of the cottage should state no mobile phone signal, as I needed phone signal desperately and had to spend a lot of time out of the cottage just to be able to make calls.

    Response on behalf of the owner; I am puzzled by this review as this guest contacted me to ask if she could stay longer, but unfortunately I could not accommodate her. It’s true that some mobile providers can have a difficult signal, however this is outside of my control and it does depend on the service provider. Therefore we cannot accurately advertise whether or not there is signal. If the guest had asked me I could have given her use of my landline phone. BT internet is good wifi and I have never had problem with either that or the TV signal.

    We had a lovely time at Mill Pond cottage. Everything we wanted was to hand and the locals were very friendly. We enjoyed the picturesque and peaceful walk up into the village and surrounding area; and also made use of the village pubs and take-away. It was nice to have an enclosed rear garden, but some comfortable seating would have made it even better. Another plus was the local bus services from the village to Taunton and Exeter, which meant we didn’t always have to take the car. Thanks to all concerned for an enjoyable stay in Uffculme.

    Great location by Coldharbour Mill and access to local footpaths. Tiverton and Cullompton great towns to explore and get supplies. Knightshayes was a great visit and wonderful walking routes.

    We found the cottage to be well equipped. No instructions on how to work TV or bedside lights. We worked it out ourselves after some head scratching. We were disappointed to discover the house hadn't been cleaned before our arrival. Hopefully this matter has been addressed by the owner. Location, easy to access the M5, so visiting other places was a doddle. The village was another disappointment. Only one pub which didn't serve food. Nice evenings in the pub were a no no. We did manage to find a couple of nice pubs within a short drive, all dog friendly, which was great. Fantastic local walks and friendly locals.
