The huge house was perfect for our family get together- 8 adults, 6 children, baby and two dogs. The children loved the quirky expanse of stairs and landings and rooms running into one another. Great for “extreme hide and seek “! I was still getting lost on the last day. The beds were all comfy with warm duvets and lovely bedding, the kitchens well equipped and the two dishwashers catered easily with all the washing up. Plenty of comfy seating in the two lounges. We enjoyed walks, runs and cycling around the pretty village and some ventured out in the boat for a row. We were fascinated by the photos and pictures of the house and Mill and family through the years. Everyone, from Grannie to the baby and the dogs, loved our stay at Mill House! The only downside was the long slow journey back to the South West ....

Brilliant house not suitable for the elderly or very young as there are 3 staircases and steps everywhere, we loved it, but felt the house needs redecorating and refurbishing. 11 of us enjoyed our stay it was a family 75th birthday celebration and went very well. All the beds were very clean and comfortable the kitchens especially were very well equipped. If I needed a large house to stay in I would definitely stay here again. Thank you.

We stayed at mill house for Xmas 6 years ago and when we stayed again Xmas 2017 nothing had changed. The house was damp and smelly. We specifically wanted the open fires and I rang prior to the holiday to check they were working as advertisedand was assured they were. We could not get the drawing room fire to stay alight and the upstairs fire smoked us out of the room despite the owner and friend spending all one morning in and out sweeping chimneys and letting in cold air into our holiday space. The only shower cubicle leaked, the kitchen tap did not work, there were no lamps provided downstairs to provide “coziness” but there were plenty of broken ones stored away! The range cooker was slow and old and a double socket which was only glued to the wall fell off. I could go on. The whole place needs an update. I realise it’s old but for the price we paid, we did expect a slightly updated place. I suggest the website be updated and not to include the photos of blazing fires! Although we had a rebate of 10% we did not feel fully compensated.
