The cottage is in an excellent location for exploring especially the Northern part of Exmoor and SW Somerset. The cottage is well appointed and the only slight problem we had was with the plumbing but this could easily be rectified. The location is excellent with many interesting areas and places within just a few miles, eg Dunster, Tarre steps. Dunkery Hill. Good hostelries too Badgers Holt (200 metres), The Bridge at Dulverton ( also nearest shopping inc. co-op) Tarre Farm Inn Tarresteps. All in all we would happily stay there again. Overall score 9 NB. the caretaker Jacky is very helpful and friendly.

Some recent reviews are rather unfair. The A-road at the back of the house has less traffic than most country lanes, and is well below the garden; you cannot hear it in the house and it is not a problem in the garden The cottage may not have the most modern decor, but it is homely, warm, well equipped, quiet and comfortable, with good wifi and convenient parking. There is a pub 5 minutes away and the cottage is very well situated for visiting Exmoor We enjoyed our stay, and are pleased that we chose this cottage

The photo (of the back of the house) is misleading as it hides the main A road which is at the end of the short back garden. However, the cottage is in a lovely spot for experiencing Exmoor and is reasonably well equipped although the facilities are a little tired

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; The property is accurately advertised and the images are not misleading. Although there is an A road behind the property, this is well below the garden level and out of sight and is a very quiet road.
