Milkmaids is a stylish, contemporary, semi-detached barn conversion which has been finished and equipped to a very high standard. Milkmaids offers a superb country retreat, perfect for couples and small families looking for a hideaway from the hustle and bustle. This stunning property is located within a small cluster of houses and converted barns. You will need a car to get about as the rural nature of Milkmaids means that it is secluded. Local shops are a short drive away but some supermarkets will deliver to Milkmaids via online shopping. The interior is light and bright with contemporary furnishings but still a home from home. Milkmaids is arranged upside down so the bedrooms and bathroom are on the ground floor while the open plan living area is on the first floor, which allows for the best views over the farm complex to the rolling Cornish countryside. The property is ideally located for exploring Cornwall and in particular the South East corner from the Rame Peninsula, which includes Looe and Polperro, down to Fowey and Mevagissey. The coastline is stunning and much of it has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. South East Cornwall is an area of estuaries, coves, golden sandy beaches, wonderful gardens and historic houses. Small fishing villages and clear water make it perfect for snorkeling, sailing, swimming or just watching the world go by.The Rame Peninsula (often called the forgotten corner of Cornwall) remains authentic with less commercial or tourist development. The twin villages of Cawsand and Kingsand are praised as being quaint with narrow streets leading to lovely sheltered beaches. Further afield is the Eden Project, approximately 17 miles, or the high end Cornish town of Fowey with its literary connections, festival of arts and literature, and regatta. Close to Milkmaids are a number of National Trust properties which are well worth a visit including Lanhydrock, Antony and Cotehele. Mount Edgcumbe House and Gardens is about 8 miles away. From here you have a stunning view of Plymouth, Devonport and Drakes Island, and the annual British Fireworks Competition which are held in August. Plymouth can be reached via foot ferry from Cawsand Beach or car ferry from Torpoint. Plymouth boasts the Mayflower Steps, National Marine Aquarium, the Elizabethan House, the docks and the original port area of the Barbican. The nearest sandy beach is Seaton, approximately 1½ miles. Looe, famous for its traditional seaside attractions and fish and chips, is 7 miles away. The nearest pub/restaurant is about a mile away in the village of Hessenford. From Milkmaids you can enjoy walking the coastal path, which is a short drive away, or there are a number of local walks with differing levels of difficulty/lengths. Cycling is popular too, or enjoy relaxing in the countryside. Beach 1½ miles. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
