This is our second Christmas visit to Middle Lodge, it is very well-equipped, warm and comfortable. Our only criticism would be that we found the double beds very soft. It’s peacefully situated but with shops and pubs within an easy distance. Plenty of walking to be found but also several towns to visit within less than half an hour.

First impression wasn't great as, on entering, we were treated to the smell of hot, wet washing. This turned out to be from the tumble dryer, which was packed to over capacity with very wet towels. We emptied a lot of towels in order to dry them in more sensible loads. This took over 7 hours. In the kitchen, we found washing up stacked drying on the drainer and used disposable cleaning cloths on the sink. The waste bin lid had dried on food waste. Not the best welcome. However, things improved from then on. The kitchen was well equipped and everywhere was clean and comfortable. The downstairs bedroom was ideal for two of our party who are very early risers and could get up without worrying about disturbing others. The beds were comfortable and we had one of the most powerful showers we have come across in our en-suite bathroom. Plenty of firewood was provided for the wood burner, although we soon let it die down as it gave out furnace levels of heat - ideal on a cold weekend. The wifi was efficient and there was plenty of information about nearby attractions. We had a little trouble operating the microwave and couldn't find the folder of appliance instructions that is usually provided. Although Middle Lodge seems quite remote, it's only a couple of miles to a retail park with a variety of shops, including a large Morrison's.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Our cleaner was ill and we used a cleaning agency. We have since discovered the owner of the agency has sacked the cleaners. I can only apologise, as we have always tried to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and this was unacceptable.

A decent well maintained property well located for Malvern Hills and Worcester. Spacious, clean, plenty of parking and well equipped, would be happy to here stay again.

The house was clean, warm and comfortable. It was also well furnished and well equipped. The location was remote but suited our party and there was easy access by road, bus and rail to surrounding market towns and cities. The time in the house was relaxing and the visits out were interesting and enjoyable.

Clean, well stocked & a great property. Directions were handy & lots to do locally. Only downside (for me) was although there was Wifi, there was no internet - No signal with O2, although there was with EE, but that phone had run out of data.. Having said that, 100yards down the road I had 4G so we did our planning while out for the day & set the sat nav using the layby half way down the lane..... Would definitely like to go back as we were cursed with the weather :o(

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Sorry about the problem with the mobile. I can usually get reception on my O2 phone at the main bedroom window, but not ideal. I am looking in to buying a mobile phone booster. For calls the house phone is free.

Great cottage where we stayed with friends for a few Best days in February. Best equipped kitchen with working oven and good quality pans. Plenty of crockery, realistic for the number of guests the cottage accommodates. Be aware though, that if you have the under cupboard lights on, the bread in the bread bin will toast! Nice location, down a lane, with walks from the door, as well as the nearby Malvern hills; close to supermarkets in Malvern; nearby city of Worcester offers plenty of interest and entertainment. All in all very homely. Not as many games or puzzles as in some places, but plenty of books. Can't comment on the main tv as it didn't go on! Nor on local eating places as we cooked for ourselves. Would happily come here again.
