Description

Many National Trust properties, attractive villages, the seaside and several shops and pubs are all available nearby this delightful cottage.

Set in a tiny hamlet of around 20 houses and cottages, nestling in the North Norfolk countryside, this delightful, terraced cottage is ideal for those seeking a quiet holiday. Six miles from the pretty market town of Holt, and 14 miles from Norwich, this is an area ideal for a holiday away from the crowds. Norwich has many attractions including its castle, cathedral, theatres and excellent shopping. The River Bure in its early stage flows through the hamlet. There are lovely views, walks and attractive villages all around this area and the unspoilt village of Heydon, used in the making of many films including ’The Go Between’, is 2 miles. The National Trust Blickling Hall is 5 miles and for those seaside days out, the coast is around 12 miles away. There is a shop and a pub in the nearby village of Corpusty, with many other several good pubs/restaurants in the locality. Also within easy reach are Felbrigg Hall (NT), Holkham Hall, Baconsthorpe Castle and Little Walsingham. The Norfolk Broads are around half an hour’s drive, with daily boat hire and river trips. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

This cottage is adequate; there are a number of small things wrong which add up. These include, in the particulars it states that there is a fridge/freezer, it's not, it's a fridge with an ice-box. The cottage wasn't particularly clean with old cobwebs, dirty crockery, cutlery and cooking equipment. The night storage heater in the living room was at best luke warm. Thankfully there is a log burner. The sofas are passed their best and are not very comfortable.

Response on behalf of the owner:- We were disappointed to read your review following your recent stay at Middle Cottage. There is a fridge with an icebox available to our guests – we will ensure that the property description on the website is changed to reflect this. Regarding cleanliness, the Cottage is thoroughly cleaned prior to each guest’s arrival. Should you have told me or contacted the Agency, we would have gone in immediately to sort any issues out. The night storage heaters have an input / output adjustment which needs to be set the night before - they're not ideal I know but there's no gas in this area and nowhere to put an oil tank practically - when they're on maximum, they are very hot. We are sorry that, unlike the vast majority of our customers, you did not find Middle Cottage to your liking. We live not very far from the Cottage and always ask our guests to contact us during their stay if they have any issues so that we can rectify them straight away.
