Welcome Cottages

A carefully curated collection of properties that offer high quality, good value accommodation in great locations across the UK, Ireland, France and Italy

Escape to the seaside with this former fisherman’s holiday property, located in Bacton.

Just a few yards from the idyllic sandy beach is Middle Cottage, which offers an ideal touring base for exploring the Norfolk coast and the Broads, regardless of the time of the year.
The Norfolk Broads National Park needs little introduction – a vast network of rivers and lakes that is home to a wealth of plants and animals, some of which are not seen anywhere else in Britain. Explore the waterways in style by hiring a boat or on a tour of the river from Wroxham, the “Capital of the Broads”. Be sure to bring a pair of binoculars as you float through the reed beds, there could be the elusive bittern (one of the rarest birds in the UK) watching from the riverbank or a family of otters lurking just below the surface.
Whether you have a thirst for history or a talent for shopping, Norwich is well worth a visit. Take a step back in time some 600 years at Norwich’s own former house of correction, and the castle and cathedral are not to be missed. There’s a variety of shopping suitable for all ages with charming boutiques and its vibrant weekly market. The Queen’s own holiday home at Sandringham is open to the public and there are National Trust properties at Sheringham Park and Blicking Hall. Sea fishing nearby. Beach 200 yards. Shop 700 yards, pub and restaurant 400 yards.

Ground floor: Living/dining room/step to kitchen with tiled floor. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet. First floor: 2 bedrooms: 1 kingsize, 1 twin.

Woodburner in living room (initial fuel included). Gas central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. 26" Sky TV (basic package). Gas hob. Electricity oven. Microwave. Washing machine. Wi-Fi. Enclosed garden with sitting-out area and furniture. On road parking. No smoking.

This cottage is delightful..as a dog owner, I was up at 6 everyday to walk the few yards to the beautiful unspoilt and uncomercialised beach. I could hear the sea at night from my cosy room and the private garden meant we could eat outside and it was safe for the dog. It provided a perfect base for our trips out to other beaches nearby . I wouldn't hesitate to return in the future.

Cottage was clean and amply equipped (tea and coffee milk in fridge was a great touch) Had all equipment we required ie pots and pans bedding towels etc, beach is only 150 yards away great for walking the dogs but not a beach for sunbathing.

Lovely cottage with all the amenities you would need and more. Very short walk to the beach which was quiet in February half term. Very steep and tight stairs as cottage is short on space and furniture is very low (sofa and master bed) so take care if tall or you have bad knees! Visited local pubs which allow dogs inside, all food we had was great and people very friendly. Sugar and Spice cafe in village was excellent - best cake we have ever had! Also allowed dogs inside and staff were fantastic. All in all a great short break.

The cottage was a lovely cosy and warm place, the log burner was great, there was everything you could need, the only thing it could do with is so curtains to pull over the doors at winter time, 2 mins walk from the beach and the pub (pouchers pocket ) with lovely and friendly people and great food, we had a lovely 4 days and my husband enjoyed his birthday there, a good rest was had by both of us, would love to go back soon.

Lovely , quaint cottage full of character. Beautifully decorated , loved the nautical theme. Very cosy & great location for both young families & dog owners. Our dog loved the beach & paddling in the sea. Lovely, relaxing week. Tea, milk & biscuits on arrival was very welcome. The wi fi worked fine too ! Wish we were still in Norfolk! Would definitely return & highly recommend, thank you for a lovely stay 😀

Nice cottage. Internet not working for whole time. Would not have booked it if known not working. Letter arrived saying it was cancelled. Main bed super comfortable settee was opposite. Sharp knifes blunt. Excellent location for beach.

Super little cottage. Greatly situated for beach, eating and visiting the area. A little disappointed couldn't get the wifi to work, but I'm sure a few days without the internet can be survived. Couldn't get it on my IPhone either. Be aware on road parking could be a little way up the street in case you have a lot to unload. Left a message for the owner because the back garden was what you might call a little over grown. Oh and the stairs are quite steep but that's to be expected in these old little properties.
