Mews Cottage is centrally located in Lavenham close to all the amenities that the village offers. The cottage is well equipped, clean and comfortable, perfect for people who don't want to sit outside, but rather prefer comfortable chairs indoors. We have stayed here several times and we will certainly be back.

We found the cottage clean, warm, comfortably furnished and in general well equipped. Nocturnal scampering noises from above the bedroom ceilings suggest there are mice resident in the loft space, although this is probably to be expected in a property of this age and location and they otherwise caused no inconvenience. Two issues, however, detracted from the stay. 1. The boiler hot water settings – which cannot be adjusted by guests – produced insufficient hot water for even a single modest bath first thing in the morning. A volunteer was needed to switch on the immersion heater early each morning to secure for adequate provision. 2. The cistern of the single toilet fills at a very slow trickle. With four of us staying in the property this proved to be a major inconvenience and necessitated re-filling it manually from the sink with the aid of a plastic bowl. We can, at best, only give a qualified recommendation.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your comments, we value customer’s feedback. We are delighted to hear you found the cottage clean, warm and comfortable. Please be assured, after investigation we can confirm there certainly is no mice in the loft. There is however a lot of birds which you can hear scattering on the roof at certain times of the day. The boiler is not a Combi boiler and therefore we do provide the option of the immersion heater which does heat up in approx. 5 minutes, to ensure all guests have plenty of hot water at all times. The toilet is not on mains water pressure, it is on a gravity flow system, however the toilet is still refilled in less than 30 seconds, this has been checked following your comments. We do hope to see you at Mews Cottage again.
