Description

Enjoy a family holiday at this property, with Foel Farm Park and Anglesey Sea Zoo within easy reach.

Situated in a quiet, rural part of Anglesey, this cluster of detached holiday properties are located at Melin Newydd windmill, which has been featured on Channel 4’s ’Restoration Man’ with George Clarke. The Windmill (ref 29567) has a lovely living area on the ground floor and a double bedroom on each of the first and second floors, from where a steep, space saver staircase leads up to a third floor living room with a balcony and fabulous views out over the surrounding countryside. Full of original features oozing character, The Windmill has been the subject of a simply stunning restoration, which makes this a cosy and quirky place to stay. Owl Cottage (ref 29569) features a conservatory living room, with picture windows opening to the fields, and two gallery bedrooms, whilst The Top Barn (ref 29568) is another barn conversion with lots of original features. These three properties are just a 10-minute drive from the delightful sandy beach at Rhosneigr - indeed, with 125 miles of coastline on the Isle of Anglesey you’re never far away from a beach or rocky cove to explore. A short distance away is the RSPB reserve at South Stack near Holyhead, whilst children will love Foel Farm Park or Anglesey Sea Zoo at Brynsiencyn. The NT mansion of Plas Newydd is well worth a visit, as is pretty Beaumaris with its castle, whilst the mountains of Snowdonia can be easily reached back on the mainland. Beach 5 miles. Shop and pub 3 miles, restaurant 5 miles.

All on ground floor: Living room with wooden floor/dining room/kitchen with slate floor. 3 steps down to 2 double bedrooms. Bathroom with bath, shower cubicle and toilet.

Three Freeview TVs. DVD. Patio with sitting-out area and furniture. Parking (2 cars). NB: 3 steps in sitting-out area.

All properties: Gas central heating and electricity (£40 per week, £25 per short break October-March ). Bed linen and towels included. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washing machine. Dishwasher. Fridge/freezer. No smoking.

Been here before.in a very quiet area which we like, but well situated to visit any of Angleseys attractions. Doesn't have Wi-Fi,which is a bit of a downer. The outside light doesn't appear to work (unless i am pressing the wrong switch), which we have mentioned in previous years. Might seem a petty thing, but it is pitch black at night( no street lighting) and would be handy when taking the dog for a walk. Also no pegs for our washing line,so we had to borrow some from the neighbours. Arrived at earliest stated time of 4.00 pm to find the cleaners still there, who said the arrival and departure times have been changed to 6.00pm and 12.00am respectively (would have been nice to have been told). We do like the top barn, but notice the pricing has started to increase quite heavily in the last 2 years and if this happens again next year, we will have to look for somewhere else to stay
