Welsh Country Cottages

An inspiring collection of properties chosen for their character, luxury and heritage, all graded 4 star and above..

A perfect central base, ideally located to explore the stunning coastline and rugged mountains of Pembrokeshire.

Nestled down a quiet country lane in the small hamlet village of Letterston, this detached, traditional Pembrokeshire longhouse has retained much of its original charm and character, making it a perfect central base for a family or group looking to discover the spectacular rugged Pembrokeshire coastline and Preseli Hills. Set on the owners’ working, organic farm, Meillion Cottage dates back to the 18th century and has been sympathetically restored to uncover its original features including stone walls and exposed beams, whilst lots of welcoming touches have been added, including a traditional wood-burning stove for those cosy nights in. Each room has been tastefully decorated to a very good standard and disabled facilities have been added to provide comfort and relaxation for everyone. There is underfloor heating throughout the whole property. Guests can enjoy the lawned garden area with furniture, perfect for unwinding after a busy day exploring the nearby Preseli Hills with its picturesque walks and ancient monuments. Located just 5 miles away from the coast, the area abounds with fantastic walks along the iconic coastal path where guests can discover the charming villages of Solva and Porthgain, set within their tranquil fishing harbours and offering a collection of seafood restaurants and art galleries. Discover the historic city of St Davids, featuring the magnificent 12th-century cathedral and medieval ruins of the Bishop’s Palace, or for the more adventurous, take a sea safari expedition around the off shore island of Ramsey. The beaches of Newgale and Whitesands are within easy reach and are renowned for surf and water sport activities. Tenby is just a 40-minute drive away with its thrilling leisure attractions, including Oakwood, Folly Farm and Manor House Wildlife Park. Golf and horse riding nearby. Beach 5 miles. Shop and pub 500 yards.

Large, beamed open-plan living/dining room with wood-burning stove, kitchen area and tiled floors. Utility. Double bedroom with 5ft bed and en-suite wet room with toilet. Further double bedroom with 6ft zip & link bed (can be twin beds on request), double sofa bed (for alternative sleeping only) and TV. Bunk bedroom. Bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet.

We loved this cottage...the kids enjoyed playing in the secret den in their bedroom. All the equipment worked which is usually not the case in holiday cottages. The owner was very kind and lent us some crabbing stuff which was used to the full. Fully recommend this cottage.

Enjoyed a week in this lovely cottage celebrating birthdays and Easter. The cottage is spotlessly clean and very well equipped with everything you may need to make your stay comfortable..its spacious but cosy. We were provided with a fabulous welcome pack of organic goodies produced using milk from the owners farm. Some great beaches and walks nearby, also shops and restaurants within easy reach. Well worth a visit, we hope to return!

This is a lovely cottage, it has everything you need. It is very nicely decorated & was very clean when we arrived. There were nice welcoming touches such as a loaf of bread, milk, butter & delicious homemade Welsh cakes. The owners were very helpful. We had an enjoyable week there & would definitely recommend it.

This is our second visit to the cottage this year, and as before it didn’t disappoint us. It has everything you could need, lovely welcome pack including a freshly baked loaf of bread. Lots of cutlery plates etc. If you have children they would love their bedroom massive bunk beds, cupboard full of toys plus a little secret room on the top for them to play in ( I would have loved it as a child). It was sadly to warm to light the fire, so maybe next time. I can’t recommend enough ideal for a couple with 2 children and maybe the grandparents ? Easy access for wheelchair users as well. Can’t wait to return😀.
