Beautiful cottage with lovely rural location but easy access & just 5min drive from nearest supermarket. Well positioned for exploring the area. Only thing that would make it perfect would be blinds/curtains on the bedroom windows to make lazy holiday mornings a bit lazier

The property is of a high specification, however it just needs small improvements to make it homely. The welcome pack was a nice touch. Things like a washing-up bowl, drainer, dish washer tables, scouring pads and the full length mirrors hung on the walls (dangerous if children there). I would have thought the owner would have actioned the previous comments in regards to curtains and blinds on the velux windows.

Wonderful rustic barn conversion with all modern conveniences. Perfectly located for the best of the Peak District but with easy access to the motorway or train station (Alfreton). The owner was easy to communicate with, friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

The cottage was lovely and cosy , very clean and plenty of room. The bathroom was lovely and big . The only downfall I would say was the farm next door . But there Again you are in the country . A lovely welcome hamper . The kitchen was the best room ..

We have had a lovely holiday in this beautiful barn conversion. It is comfortable, spacious, well insulated and finished to a very high standard. A few little things would make it perfect, there were only six knives and forks, making dining a little difficult, we had to rinse our cutlery between courses. There were only three pans not really enough for cooking a meal with a selection of vegetables. Light bulbs needed replacing, the latch on the kitchen door had a screw missing. The towels provided were of a poor quality and small, on of our party was left two hand towels. Blinds and mirrors were needed in the upstairs bedrooms and a mirror in the downstairs loo. All these things are minor, and easily rectified. Overall we had a good holiday and enjoyed our stay. The extra touches of the welcome flowers, milk, cake, and wine were much appreciated. I would recommend a holiday at Meadow View.

We chose this cottage partially due to being dog friendly, however when we arrived there were many restrictions requested relating to how the property could be used i.e not leaving the dog in the property alone and not allowing the dog upstairs, but not providing a stair gate. We had brought our own. The sercurity in the garden was not great as the dog could have easily accessed gardens on either side. There were dogs in the gardens on either side. The condition of the road to the property was poor. Many potholes. Wasn't suitable for walking the dog as the weather was poor and the road is not tarmaced the dog was filthy after every walk and needed to be washed down to keep the property clean. There were no blinds on the velux windows in the bedrooms. One bedroom only had a small lamp with a bulb, the ceiling light and second lamp had none. There are no mirrors upstairs for drying your hair. There were no toilet roll holders anywhere. The main door from hall to the living room is not correctly fitted and doesn't open properly and has to be forced, risking damage. The kitchen door didn't latch properly. Last but not least the smell from the neighbouring cowshed prevents enjoyment of the out door seating area. This had been noted a few times in the visitors book.
