Amazing house, great hosts that live in the house at the back who left a wonderful coffee and walnut cake and welcome pack. Lovely big secure garden, big outdoor seating area, gas bbq. The house is lovely spacious and spotlessly clean.

Very big house over 3 floors. The kitchen is a joy to cook in. Separate dining room with enough space for 12. Didn't use the TV lounge as danced in the lounge with the phone in the docking stereo. We had sunny weather for the weekend and sat out in the garden. Nice big patio table. Plenty of enclosed lawns for the dog too. The owners left us a massive home cooked cake and some fresh eggs and wine. My Mum and Dad thoroughly enjoyed the weekend away for their 50th wedding anniversary. Walked into Everton to the Sun Inn for a pint. Relaxing time had by all.

Only fault with the house was the erratic showers - too hot and then freezing! But a very warm welcome with wine, eggs from their chickens, delicious homemade cake and chocolate buttons for the children. Local attractions for children generally dependent on good weather but we found a petting farm, swimming pool and laser- quest within reasonable distance. Lovely garden for hide and seek when it stopped raining. Overall, an excellent venue for a family get-together together, spacious, well- equipped and very comfortable.

Great place to spend the weekend with friends, with ample space in the living areas and bedrooms. The only downside is the water supply, which cannot cope with the amount t of people/bathrooms. I'd recommend installing some pumps for the showers to improve the water flow.

Lovely and warm during cold and frosty days and nights. Friendly Post Office one minute walk over the road to stock up on bread , milk etc. and dog walks from the door. A trip to Bawtry, 10 minute drive, is well worth it with quaint coffee shops.

The owners are more than friendly and go out of their way to make guests welcome and nothing is too much trouble for them. However, the house requires work on the water system before it will be ready for habitation as the pressure is so low that it is impossible for more than one person to have a shower at the same time. (We only managed 2 showers throughout our stay) Depending on which shower is used if anyone turns a tap on even for a split second then there is a risk of being scalded or having a freezing cold shower. The water pressure to one side, the accommodation is rambling and is ideal for family get together especially for young children who certainly have a great time playing throughout the house. Access to the property is through a very narrow entrance way which is is difficult to manover through and caution is advised when entering (repairs to my car amounted to £400)

We loved our stay at Mattersey House. Would definitely recommend for families/friends with young children. The location is perfect so we didn’t venture far! Glenn was a great host, thank you!

The booking process was really easy, and confirming how to get the key wasn't difficult. We got tips for where to get groceries locally as well! On arrival the house was clean and tidy - couldn't smell any previous pets which is amazing. The cake left for us was one of the best ever - such a nice touch, as was everything else left! The house was well provisioned - as always, we brought our own knives...everything else we needed was there! Bedrooms and bathrooms were fine - the top rooms typically we allocated to the tall person...so they had to duck a tiny bit, but still enjoyed it. We'd very much go again!
