Welcome Cottages

A carefully curated collection of properties that offer high quality, good value accommodation in great locations across the UK, Ireland, France and Italy

In a pretty village setting surrounded by the Peak District National Park, this is in an ideal location for outdoor activities and exploring the area.

A detached two bedroom cottage situated in the centre of Kingsley Holt, a past winner of Staffordshire Best Kept Village. The property has been renovated to make a very comfortable cottage close to the village’s recreation area. Kingsley Holt is surrounded by the Staffordshire moorlands and the Peak District National Park so it’s in an ideal location to explore the area. Mary’s Cottage is just a short walk away to the Churnet Valley Steam Railway, which will take you on a journey through the beautiful countryside known as Staffordshire’s ’Little Switzerland’. If you prefer to see the countryside on foot, the Staffordshire Way, a long distance walking route that spans the length of the county, is a short walk from the cottage.
For a day of thrilling rides, visit Alton Towers Resort only 6 miles away. There are many museums and historic houses in the area including many National Trust properties, The Old Manor, Biddulph Grange Garden and Sudbury Hall. The town of Cheadle with supermarkets, shops, pubs and restaurants is 2 miles, and there are many nearby market towns to visit within easy reach such as Leek, Uttoxeter, Ashbourne and Buxton. Stoke-on-Trent, which is famous for its potteries and museums (Wedgewood, Bridgewater) and Gladstone Pottery Museum, is 13 miles. The Peak District National Park is within a 20 minute drive where you can hike, rock climb, abseil and do many more land and water based activities. Shop 2 miles, pub 400 yards, restaurant ½ mile.

Cottage was lovely. Well laid out and full of little bits like welcome pack, and washing powder were welcome. Location was perfect for what we wanted although the road can be busy and noisy particularly in the evenings. Family friendly with stair gates and cots being put in.

Had a long weekend here with our 15 month old daughter. The hosts are really thoughtful and have made this a home from home with more equipment in the kitchen than a standard rental, for instance. The extra touches to the welcome pack were well received too and the cottage has some nice walks from the front door as well as being handily places for exploring the Peak District.

Great little holiday house- clean & well equipped with off road parking but slightly overpriced for it's size.

The hosts provide a complete "Welcome Pack and litany of information relevant to local community activities, visitor sites, and restaurants" and are very accommodating. The cottage provides the amenities to provide a "home away from home" lifestyle and experience. The bed is the one of the best beds we experienced staying in over 10 accommodation places over past 6 weeks' business trip. The site photo does not do the property/cottage justice. It does not represent the true cosiness and size of the actual property easily accommodating a family. The only amenity not provided was a hair dryer, but the cottage provides a washing machine, a beautiful patio, a cozy wood burning stove, and a pleasurable home lifestyle of living in a home away from home. Would highly recommend. Its important to note that cottage has stairs for anyone who may struggle climbing stairs.
