The ground floor apartment is spacious and very close to York station. The decor and furnishings are basic. The beds were comfortable. The double bed in the master bedroom is high. Frail or small adults might have a problem getting up onto the high bed or reaching into the upper cupboards and fridge in the kitchen. The runners to protect the carpet in the hall move and become tripping hazards. The apartment faces towards an industrial yard on the opposite side of the road. Due to the outside lights from the building and the opposite yard it is very bright during the night. Black-out curtains would be helpful. At the weekend it was very quiet but during the week there was some noise from working machinery in the night.

Response on behalf of the Owner; We were surprised and disappointed at these comments and note the content, we regret that Jess did not enjoy her stay at Martin’s Court. The grading of the flat was recently renewed as a high 4 star. Our other reviewers please do read the below – they describe Martin’s Court as comfortable, with good facilities and we are very proud that we have guests that have returned to us on numerous occasions. Had we been made aware that the guests needed help during their stay we would have been more than happy to advise.

We had a great week in York with lots to see and do. The flat at Martins Court was very close to the city centre and was a great base. The flat was very clean and had plenty of room (and WiFi!) for our family of 4 (mum, dad, 13 year old son and 10 year old daughter).

The apartment was very well presented and comfortable with easy instruction to get there. As two out of three of us are disabled the bus stop across the road was very convenient for getting about. Recommended for a lovely break away.

Again another great stay here. 10 mins walk from the train station and a leisurely 20 mins walk along the river, into the Centre. This flat is superb, very spacious and has everything you need for your time away. Will definitely stay again and have recommended to friends.

We had great contact and communication with the owner, not that it was required. A nice chat before we arrived. The apartment was large and really was a home from home. Just a 10 minute walk into the city. Located just a few minutes from the train museum and on York minster side. Really pleasent stay, would recommend whole heartedly. Excellent!

Nice apartment, good facilities and clean but wouldn’t recommend for toddlers. Location ok but no shops or pubs in walking distance

Response on behalf of the owner; We were surprised at this comment, the flat is ground floor with cot, high chair, and a large sitting room to accommodate the liveliest toddler. Our extensive information pack gives precise instructions to parks and play facilities suitable for children of all ages. Our information pack also gives details of our local pub and convenience store within 6 minutes walk of the flat. It includes directions to the centre of York with its amazing pubs, restaurants and shops all within 10 minutes walk. Had we been made aware that the guests needed help with finding their way round the area we would have been more than happy to advise.

Lovely week in a very comfortable flat. Beautiful weather. Plenty of places to visit in and around York. As my husband uses a blue badge it was great to have free parking in York though we got lost trying to find car parks, so many one way streets.
