Mill Cottage is a hidden gem, set in a peaceful retreat in the heart of a conservation area. The River Batherm runs down the side of the garden, and there are beautiful open views over the surrounding fields and hills.

Grade II listed, Mill Cottage has a lovely beamed sitting and dining area, and 3 bedrooms (2 doubles and 1 twin). It is full of character and has been renovated in keeping with its 17th century origins. Fluffy towels and Egyptian cotton bed linen are provided, and guests have shared use of the grounds with the opportunity to fish from the riverbank. The owners live on-site with four very friendly pointers and a cat.

Bampton offers really good village amenities, and is one of the gateways to Exmoor National Park with its stunning scenery, Exmoor ponies and red deer. The West Somerset and North Devon coastlines are an easy drive, as is access to the larger towns of Tiverton, Taunton and Exeter. Nearby are a number of National Trust properties, and within 5 miles, Wimbleball Lake offers fantastic walks and water sport activities. One friendly well-behaved dog is welcome, to share the fully enclosed garden with the owner’s dogs. Extra dogs may be accepted upon request.

The cottage was very cosy and had everything we needed. The owners were very kind and left us milk and goodies on our arrival. We really enjoyed our week away and would love to return some time

Family of 5 plus our 1yr old dog had a lovely stay at Mill Manor Cottage. The owners make it a home from home, very cosy and very well kitted out with everything you could need. The garden is large and beautiful and our dog thoroughly enjoyed running around and playing with the owners dogs. A couple of convenience stores plus a bakers, butchers and greengrocers, plus pubs and cafes all a short walk away. Great location to visit many places within Somerset and Devon. Would definitely recommend and we will definitely return one day.
