This property is part of our Cottages4you collection

In superb locations and beautiful settings. Cottages4you gives you a fantastic range of hand-picked properties with quality you can rely on.

This charming holiday cottage has plenty of nearby attractions to keep the outdoor enthusiasts entertained, ranging from wildlife to fishing.

The Old Manor House was built in 1752 and its former farm buildings have now been carefully converted into two delightful holiday cottages (refs 29873 and 29874) which are adjacent to the owner’s home. Retaining the charm of a bygone era, visitors can now enjoy contemporary furnishings and facilities in this peaceful rural setting close to the coast. Each cottage enjoys a private patio area and the freedom to wander the woodland area surrounding the pond. Ulrome has an interesting 11th-century church, and when walking right through the village you reach the sea, where steps lead down to the beach which is popular for fossil hunting and fishing. Traditional seaside fun can be found at Hornsea, 6½ miles, and Bridlington, 8 miles, where there are further sandy beaches, boat trips, numerous teashops, restaurants and inns. Hornsea Mere and RSPB Bempton Nature Reserve are a bird lovers’ paradise. Visit the stately homes at Burton Agnes and Burton Constable, and enjoy the beautiful gardens, children’s zoo and land train at Sewerby Hall. The quaint market town of Beverley, renowned for its minster and racecourse, is within half an hour’s drive, and inland lays the scenic countryside of the Yorkshire Wolds which inspired the famous Hockney paintings. Beach 1 mile. Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.

We enjoyed our stay in this modernised cottage/conversion which is well decorated, light and airy, clean and mostly very comfortable. It was good to have access to a dishwasher and washing machine, wifi and a smart TV. There were a few minor negative points, e.g. blinds letting in a lot of light, the main double bed being rather creaky, and it being very hard to alter the shower temperature. These small issues take the shine off very slightly, but overall it is still a good place to stay.

Beautiful cottage. Friendly helpful owners. Fantastic for animal lovers. Only stayed for a long weekend but would happily stay much longer. Would highly recommend and hope to return

Lovely cottage & will definitely stay there again when next visiting that area. Karen & Chris very friendly & helpful but not intrusive. Really nice seeing the horses & sheep in the paddock from the cottage window. Also seeing the other animals on the farm . Karen has plans to add amenities to the farm itself for their visitors which will make your stay even more enjoyable. Already is one of the nicest cottages we have stayed in & we have stayed in quite a few. Can't really fault it or the hosts in any way.

Very impressed with The Cart House, located on a farm where Karen the owner allowed us to feed the animals and was a great host during our stay. She also baked us some cakes and brought them over which was a very nice touch. Could not fault this, the cottage is very well presented and clean.

Really nice cottage. A little smaller than shown in the pictures. Very comfortable beds could do with an upstairs shower rather than the bath. We had a great time
