A charming detached holiday cottage situated in the heart of D-Day country, Maison Marais features a conservatory and a beamed living room with stone fireplace and woodburner. The village of Blosville lies in the centre of the Cotentin Peninsula between the bustling towns of Sainte-Mère-Église and Carentan. Steeped in history, this region is also one of Normandy’s most picturesque; the famous beaches of Utah and Omaha are easily accessible by car, as are the towns of Coutances and Bayeux - internationally known for its epic tapestry. Further afield can be found the well-known resort towns of Granville and Deauville, and Normandy’s most famous icon, the monastic isle of Le Mont Saint-Michel.

Approximate distance to Dinard airport is 180 km.

Well equipped, comfortable 'home from home' , would definitely return. Ideal location for all D-Day museums, but far more to the area. Thanks to Anna & William for making our stay so enjoyable.

We had a fantastic week here in Blosville and Anna made us very welcome. There is The Cottage plus The Barn a separate little gite available. The cottage has all of the items one requires and its thoughtfully set out. We used the upstairs double bedroom in the cottage which was beautiful with a double window aspect. It has a small toilet and wash basin. Shame that the shower was downstairs, however that was more than made up for by the quaintness of the place. There was also a twin bedroom upstairs which we didnt use. Lovely conservatory on the rear of the property which was ideal for lounging in the afternoon sunshine. Very nice lounge area with comfy sofas and a log fire if required. Outside table and chairs were situated in the garden and sun loungers were also provided. We took our electric bikes and the little lanes around the villages here were so quiet and peaceful. We didnt use the TV only DVD’s during our stay. I never once managed to get connected to the wi-fi and I’m usually pretty savvy with technology. All of the D-day beaches were a short drive away, particularly recomend The Overlord museum. We will definately visit this place again, already looking at later dates and availability. Thanks to Anna and William, plus Ann who stood in for Anna and William during their holiday.

This is one of the best places we have stayed in Normandy. Anna was very welcoming and made us feel at home. The extra touches (home made preserves, local cider & flowers) were very welcome. The week we stayed was very cold and wet but the ample supply of logs for the fire meant it was always warm and cosy in the cottage without having to turn up the central heating. Overall a lovely relaxing break in a beautiful cottage. Highly recommended.

The cottage has every need catered for ... Anna left us lovely home made jam, marmalade and cider for our arrival. The fridge had the essentials as did the cupboards left for us, making it feel home from home. Beds are very comfortable and showers are good. The conservatory is a useful bonus especially I would imagine if the weather wasn't as kind as it was for us. The setting is very rural and the village is very quiet and tranquil. There are many places to visit in the area including the tapestry at Bayeaux, there is a little land train that runs around the town that is worth considering stopping at the landmarks. [Hop on hop off.]. Arromanche is well worth a visit, as well as the WW2 history in the harbour there are good restaurants including the Hotel that does a seafood buffet that was delicious and very reasonable at 3 courses help yourself buffet €28 ..... the stay at the cottage was very enjoyable and comfortable so much so that we tried to book again in May but it was already booked for the week that we wanted in school holidays. We were a party of 4 and used the main house and the annexe this being due to the stairs that lead up to the 2 bedrooms which can be difficult to negotiate for those with any physical difficulties and there is height restriction at the top of the stairs. Having said one of our party members is 6'6" and he managed , but worth mentioning if you have difficulties with stairs as did 2 of our party. The annexe is detached across the little courtyard, delightful and comfortable and a bonus should you want a bit of extra privacy if 2 couples staying although. This gives you a bit of 'space' although in our case this wasn't an issue just a need for accommodation all on the level. I am sure there will be 'happy comfortable holidays' for all that stay here!
