This original stone, terraced property with air conditioning offers a beautiful family holiday home with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It is located in a quiet hamlet, 30 minutes away from the beaches and near to Nîmes. Nearby, in Calvisson, a large bustling market is held every Sunday morning on the village square. Make sure to visit the Roc de Gachone and its 3 windmills to get stunning views over the plain. Half-way between the Cévennes and Camargue, the hiking and cycling trails of the Pays de Sommières go through a multitude of landscapes bathed in the Mediterranean sun and combining wooded hills, fragrant scrubland, olive groves and vineyards. For history lovers, visit Uzès, the breathtaking Pont du Gard and Aigues-Mortes.

Although the house was a bit smaller than we were expecting the location was really convenient with good access to the beaches, airport and never too far from good days out relatively speaking considering the size of France. Highlight is canoe trip under pont du gard. Fantastic beaches near grande motte. As for the house a convenient garage to park in and for storage, bikes provided were a welcome bonus, fantastic local bike riding routes. Downsides, cooker was a bit of a challenge to use initially with no instructions. Beds were not made up for us and thought this was included as we had paid for linen. Minor things really. No English to but that didn't bother us to much and actually proved a bonus as we played games in the evening instead which was far more fun. Good internet access. Fantastic local market on Sunday's in Calvisson.

Whilst the accommodation was clean and well presented the noise from passing traffic from 6.30am until well into the night was very unfortunate.

A mixed bag. Good points: - aircon (was essential in August with 33c temperatures); relatively recently refurbished; dishwasher. Things we were unhappy about: - the window wall made the main room very uncomfortable in the afternoons as the sun overcame the air conditioning - blinds are badly needed; no handrail on the stairs - not good for the older set or me recovering from a broken ankle; poor security - the garage door locking depends on a bolt going into the floor concrete with only a flimsy couple of mm engagement - I think it would be very easy to spring these doors open which then gives entry to the whole house; getting my estate car into the garage is difficult as the doors are at an angle and you have to turn as you drive in - very tight and easy to scrape your car; for the €50 fee it could have been cleaner - we found fluff and cotton buds under the beds; the energy charges are high €75 over 12 days is a lot - we weren't shown the meter or how to read it so had to take their word for what we used, but the unit costs are not clear either (no doubt the heat gain from the glass wall didn't help); the street outside appears to be like a dog toilet with excrement everywhere that you have to pick your way through and avoid driving over and bringing into the garage; we didn't feel the agents were very friendly when we arrived and seemed put out that we wanted to use both bedrooms (we had to stop her locking off access to one of them)(my wife speaks reasonable French so it wasn't a communication issue and we have always found a friendly reception in France in the past). We wouldn't choose this property again and this is the first time I've ever said that in a review
