We had a lovely stay at Magpie Cottage, bedrooms were all very comfortable and the cottage was well equipped. The welcome basket with prosecco and biscuits was a lovely touch.

Lovely stay at Magpie and brother lives in the village so great for catching up. We were happy to pay but on reflection as not even a pub/shop to the village seemed a little high but we still enjoyed our stay. Good base to other places to visit and would have come back as xmas but cannot justify the price doubles! The cottage behind is fine but they do have trampoline right next to fence hence even if the kids stand on it they are in full view of the garden and back of the cottage, extra screening would be an advantage.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner:- Thank you for providing feedback and we are pleased that you enjoyed your stay. We were working in the front garden last weekend when your brother and his wife walked past and they had said also how much you had liked staying at Magpie. On the edge of the village is the Longcross Hotel which has a bar and wonderful views from the raised patio down to the sea. There is also a farm shop at the strawberry farm a 10 minute walk from Magpie for essentials. We don’t find the trampoline next door to be too much trouble, the children only tend to use it for about 15 minutes when they return from school. Unfortunately we do not have control over the pricing policy, that is controlled by the booking agent. Thank you again for your feedback.

Well-equipped, comfortable cottage. Ideal for a large group or family get-together. The three bathrooms are a big plus point. Nice garden.

Lovely cottage with great surroundings. Very peaceful area. My only complaints would be that the ground floor bathroom door desperately needs oiling and that it would be handy to have had access to charcoal to use the barbecue,as we did try to order some but it was unavailable. Our dog was very happy with the garden....she says thank you! The welcome pack was a lovely touch. The cottage was well equipped and also we liked the fact that there were towels, beds and food bowls provided for dogs (even though we brought our own). Although advertised as having the full Sky package, we found this was not the case. Apart from having a bit of bad weather the cottage was a delight to stay in. Recommend Rock for the bakery and the beach for dogs. Port Issac is a really lovely place to visit and the local farm has a great little restaurant and farm shop.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner:- Feedback is always welcome, good or bad allows others to benefit. All the doors have now been oiled so the squeaks have gone. The local farm shop sells charcoal but we will consider providing this for next season since in the busy periods availability cannot be guaranteed. The cottage advert has always stated Sports package, if you have seen otherwise then please contact the booking agent and the situation will be rectified. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay.

We had a wonderful holiday in magpie cottage. We are a family of four with two young children who had a room each upstairs. We had the master bedroom with the en suite downstairs and didn't use the fourth bedroom downstairs. The layout of the cottage was perfect for us, fabulous comfy lounge and a lovely good-sized kitchen diner which was very well equipped and looks out onto the good sized garden. Totally peaceful and very relaxing location. Only a few minutes drive to polzeath beach and several others not much further away. We did grocery shopping in Wadebridge where there is a large Tesco and Lidl. Camel trail bike rides from Wadebridge to Padstow followed by a ferry trip to Rock and back was the perfect way to spend a cloudy day, and and the steam train at Bodmin solved a bit of rain, otherwise all beautiful sunshine and lots of beaches enjoyed. The cottage provided the perfect base for us to come back to at the end of the day. Everything is very new and well thought out, not over cluttered but with enough character and detail to make it feel special. Would definitely recommend and although we tend not to repeat holiday locations we'd definitely return to magpie if we did this bit of coast again. Thanks for great holiday house 🏡

Lovely cottage with plenty of room, the large table was great to fit all the family around as our son & his family were also in Cornwall that week & we came together for meals on two nights during our weeks holiday
