A fantastic location on the spectacular North Devon Coast in the picturesque seaside and harbour town of Ilfracombe, these semi-detached, chalet style holiday bungalows are within the pretty grounds of the owner’s hotel. The ideal holiday location from which to enjoy this lovely area and within easy walking distance of the sea front and harbour. In summer the Lundy Island ferry runs from the harbour, and it is the ideal spot for sea fishing enthusiasts. If not exploring the `The Lanes’ or `Tunnels’ beach, then you could visit the 18th century Bicclescombe Water Mill or the Ilfracombe Museum. There are many scenic coastal walks, including the South West Coastal Path and the famous Tors Walk, and Ilfracombe has an excellent selection of pubs, restaurants and quayside shops along with a swimming pool and famous Landmark Theatre. This is a great base for touring, with superb surfing at Croyd and Woolacombe and the unspoilt wild open moors of Exmoor National Park close by. The Victorian cliff railway at Lynton and Lynmouth are within easy reach and the area has many family attractions including Exmoor Zoological Park and Combe Martin Wildlife & Dinosaur Park. Shop 200 yards, pub and restaurant in adjacent hotel.

    Great location. Cottage clean and comfortable but needs a bit of an update! Noisy birds a nuisance in the morning. Lots to do in and around ilfracombe. Would stay again.

    This cottage is in a good location but the appearance and accessibility lets it down. Peeling wallpaper, a rusty toilet roll holder, dirty windows and numerous cobwebs and dead spiders on the ceiling let it down. Driving through the entrance is tricky (it's very narrow) especially on exit and negotiating on-coming traffic. Once on site vehicle has to be turned round in a confined space then reversed down to the cottage avoiding the rockery in the process. Also if you don't want the resident seagulls waking you up at 4.30am and church bells ringing for an hour early Sunday morning, this isn't for you. Shame as this place does have the potential to be so much better.

    Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you very much for your review. We only have two and half hours per cottage to clean on a Saturday. We do as much as we can. Apologies if you found the odd cobweb. These are now removed.

    The first thing we look for when hiring a holiday cottage is acceptance of dogs, assuming that this facility extends to use of a garden of some sort or an area where we can sit outside with the dogs. The inference given in the description is that this property is dog friendly: very misleading. There are two areas of garden and a driveway. The rear garden to the cottages, where the owners exercise their dog, in full view of dog-owning, rental-paying guests is, however, out of bounds to guests.......and don't even think of taking your dog into the other garden adjoining the hotel. Dogs not allowed there, either. The NIMBY attitude of the owner is 'use the cemetery down the road'.

    Response on behalf of the Owner; Dear Guest, I can’t help but feel that there was some misunderstanding between you and us; we would never stop anyone from sitting outside and enjoying the garden. Well behaved dogs are always welcome. However, we do a number of Afternoon and Cream teas in the Garden, so the odour of Doggy Doos just isn’t acceptable.

    The cottage was very well equipped and very comfortable. The owners were very informative and helpful. I had a lovely stay.

    Cottage was extremely clean and comfortable with a wonderful view over the town towards the sea. However, surrounding area was very built up with busy roads and we had great trouble parking through a very narrow archway with our large car, likewise also reversing out on to the busy road. However, in our case, the Owner very kindly let us park in the hotel parking space. I have not given the cottage full points as it was not pointed out to me that the independent shower was not connected, making hair washing difficult, and the web site is misleading as it shows a grassy area in front of cottage, when, in fact, the area belongs to the hotel. However, the coastal walks are amazing and the bus stop is very close with frequent service so as not to have the trouble of using the car to visit many interesting and beautiful locations.

    I had a lovely stay,cottage in an ideal location for me easy access to town center,i will certainly book again when going to Ilfracombe,Paul and Lorinda are lovely people very welcoming,they asked me several times if I was ok and did I need anything.

    Amazing shower, lovely hot water/radiators. Very clean and friendly and views of Ilfracombe
