Seaside location

Seaside location

A fantastic location on the spectacular North Devon Coast in the picturesque seaside and harbour town of Ilfracombe, these semi-detached, chalet style holiday bungalows are within the pretty grounds of the owner’s hotel. The ideal holiday location from which to enjoy this lovely area and within easy walking distance of the sea front and harbour. In summer the Lundy Island ferry runs from the harbour, and it is the ideal spot for sea fishing enthusiasts. If not exploring the `The Lanes’ or `Tunnels’ beach, then you could visit the 18th century Bicclescombe Water Mill or the Ilfracombe Museum. There are many scenic coastal walks, including the South West Coastal Path and the famous Tors Walk, and Ilfracombe has an excellent selection of pubs, restaurants and quayside shops along with a swimming pool and famous Landmark Theatre. This is a great base for touring, with superb surfing at Croyd and Woolacombe and the unspoilt wild open moors of Exmoor National Park close by. The Victorian cliff railway at Lynton and Lynmouth are within easy reach and the area has many family attractions including Exmoor Zoological Park and Combe Martin Wildlife & Dinosaur Park. Shop 200 yards, pub and restaurant in adjacent hotel.

Me an my partner are both disabled and have a mobility problems. On arriving spoke to the own who informed us we would couldn't park out side the cottage as the previous couple had left there car parked out Side the cottage as he was in hospital and that we had to park in the hotel car park we did point out that we were both disabled and have a mobility problem and that we needid the parking space out side the cottage, the car was till there when we left. The cottage was very short on a welcome pack I.E small amount of tea coffee milk,it smelt musty and damp, the shower needs sorting out , wrong shower head for the make of the shower and the water was scolding hot unless it was turned down to a trickle. the cottage ins in need furbishing and bringing up to modern day standarad The settee was dirty and stained and no control for putting on the heating as it got a bit chilly standards was told suposed to have been an in closed garden but dogs were not in and the other garden was for private us. It was the worsed cottage I have ever stayed.

A nice little cottage within easy walking distance of Ilfracombe. Was what we expected from a 3 star cottage but was clean and comfortable. The parking was not a problem, although higher reviews had commented on this as an issue, we gave an estate car and had no difficulties. Would stay again
