A nice lodge on a secure and private site which served as a great base for exploring York and the nearby Yorkshire Wolds. It was well equipped with i.e washing machine but we marked the equipment down on minor points simply because there was a lack of basic self catering cooking equipment i.e no measuring jug, no chopping board and the pair of the plastic bowls that we needed for salad etc were unusable. There was a single wine glass but plenty of beer glasses. The sofa was well used and not so comfortable
