Had a lovely stay at Lum Hat with our 2 kids (8&2). The house was large enough not to feel on top of each other and is much bigger than the pictures make out. The beds were comfy and none of us had a problem sleeping. Kitchen was well stocked- the only thing I found we could have used was some proper baking trays but we managed with what was there. The local area is beautiful and we enjoyed watching the sunset over the Firth every night. The only downside to the cottage was that we had to come home. Even the spiral staircase which was narrow we had no problem I think we was lucky with our toddler who (for a change) listened when we said no and didn't mess around on them. All in we had a lovely time, and this will definitley be on our list to try and get to again. Also a lovely welcome book came out prior to going with some useful information. Thanks again.

Feeling a bit tired, not very clean, kitchen floor and some of the cups plus a strong smell of cooked fish when we arrived. Spiral staircase very tight to use and verging on dangerous. Location nice but road very fast and busy.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; We are very sorry that you did not find Lum Hat come up to your, and indeed, our standards. Judging by the number of people who return and the excellent comments made by our visitors time and time again, we do maintain very high standards. We do thank you for your comments and will make sure these matters are taken care of so far as we can. Obviously there is not much we can do about the road which does have some quite fast traffic, but Lum Hat House is set quite well back. We have looked at the spiral staircase but there does not appear to be anything that can be done to change it. On the other hand my wife and I are both almost eighty years old and do not experience difficulty with going up and down. You did not comment on the ground source heating system which is completely without fumes or smell and makes virtually no sound. But thank you again for your help!

we had a lovely holiday. the cottage is very well equipped,( that chair in the corner of the sitting room is so comfortable i could have brought it home, but beware you WILL get sleepy while sitting in it) everything we needed was there. we used the twin beds and they were very comfortable. it was clean and the garden was well maintained. there is nothing to fault. the views from both the sitting room window and the conservatory were stunning.
