A wonderful house and garden. Ideal for a family of nine (Myself and my wife, 2 daughters and their husbands, and 3 grandchildren). The owners have thought about and provided pretty much everything that you could possibly want in a holiday home. The accommodation downstairs was great with 2 living rooms each with a huge TV. The main room has a sofa to fit all and views out on to a patio, covered pond and garden beyond. The other room could more accurately be described as a games room with wii and x-box available. A massage chair in there was also a nice touch. The one and a half acre garden includes a gas BBQ and plenty of comfortable outside furniture ideally placed for soaking up the late in the day sunshine, and apple, pear and plum trees meant that fresh fruit was there for the picking during our stay. The lawn also allowed for numerous games of football and other child friendly diversions. The play house doubled up as a shop on more than one occasion! As other reviewers have mentioned the 5 bedrooms were wonderful, with plenty of room and rather luxurious. TV's in most of them as well. A sizeable and very well equipped kitchen allowed for us to prepare and enjoy eating meals together, and the useful utility room proved to be a great place for washing and drying anything wet. A second fridge and freezer in there also allowed for any overflow from the large kitchen one. Overall a very private property with parking for 3 or 4 cars on the driveway in front. Far reaching views over the back garden and beyond. In truth though close to the A35 road, the traffic noise quickly became background and we did not find it excessively intrusive. The house itself is ideally placed for visiting Poole, Wareham, Corfe, Swanage and Weymouth, all within a maximum of 30 minutes drive time allowing for traffic. So much to see and do - Monkey World, Poole Quay, Splashdown Waterpark, the lovely sandy beach and old town at Weymouth, Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, the lost village of Tyneham, and not forgetting Corfe Castle easily accomplished by us. All very worthwhile trips out from a central base. As a family we can't recommend Lower Woodbury House high enough to everyone. You won't be disappointed. A final thank you to Ricky and Sharon (the owners) and Jan (the caretaker) too for making the house so welcoming, and clean and fresh for our arrival. A very happy holiday had by all.

The cottage is in a lovely location and is very spacious. It has large a garden which is great for playing cricket, football etc. Our family dog, Monty, loved running around in the garden. It is central to lots of the local attractions such as Weymouth, Swanage and Monkey World, to name a few. The cottage is very well equipped, ideal for large families and very comfortable with great views of the surrounding countryside. We saw two deer in the garden on our first day. There is a great pub nearby called The Worlds End (DT11 9EW) which is a beautiful building and they serve excellent food with friendly staff and is well worth a visit.

A great house for a large family gathering with good sized bedrooms, two lounges and a well equipped kitchen. The patio and large garden were enjoyed immensely by the kids, with plenty of room for obstacle courses, kicking a football and balance bike races for the 3 year olds. The 'big boys' enjoyed the x-box for some healthy competition. All went very smoothly and we would definitely recommend the house as a place to stay in Dorset!!
