We spent an enjoyable break at the cottage, but prefer to stay in different places each time we visit the lake district so would probably not stay in this cottage again.

Lovely little cottage in a splendid location, could not have asked the more. Jean, the landlady, lives next door and she is adorable. She even put a bird feeder just outside our sitting room so we had a constant supply of winged colourful friends to look at whilst chilling on the super-comfortable reclining chairs. The location is quite remote and you need to be careful driving on a single lane country road through the forest up the hill, but once you're there it will be worth it. We wanted to be far from the bank holiday tourists galore so we were very happy with it, especially with the wonderful half an hour walk in the countryside to the nearest pub in Oxen Park. Next time we'll be a bit more prepared with food stuff, but there's always the supermarket in Ulverston.
