Lovely cottage with everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The only recommendation is they need to update the furniture. Sofa was very uncomfortable.

The cottage is well located for Bowness and Windermere, and all the other Lake areas are easily reached from it. The cottage itself only has a view across a narrow working yard to a stone barn, and there is no private garden/patio area, only a bench seat on the yard. A short walk down the farm drive does give great views. The boiler in the cottage is loud and noisy - be prepared to keep the tv remote to hand to adjust the volume each time it fires up. There are no facilities to wash/dry clothing - not an issue for my visit, but could be a problem during colder, wetter periods. The cottage could do with some redecoration and the old-style furniture needs updating with a more comfortable choice. There is a bath with a integrated shower head, although I found this completely unusable as the water pressure is quite low. On the whole the cottage was perfectly adequate for my stay, and the owners are really lovely, friendly and helpful.

An idyllic situation and true value for money. The cottage facilities were basic but that was how it was described so there were no great surprizes. Friendly and helpful owners. An ideal base for exploring the Lake District and with beautiful walks literally on the doorstep. A proper working farm which suited us perfectly.

We had a fantastic stay at Low Fold! A beautiful rural location on a lovely farm. The farmers were very friendly with lots of local knowledge and history of the farm and local area and the regular presence of cats, sheep, dogs and chickens outside the cottage made you feel like you were in a Beatrix Potter story! Would definitely recommend to couples for a lovely get away to life in the countryside! Lots of good local walks and beautiful views of the AONB just on the doorstep. Only 20 minutes from bowness-on-windermere and Kendal, plenty of tourist attractions within 20 mins such as the Beatrix potter attraction, kayaking and rowing on Windermere, steam engine and aquarium as well as being near some great places to go hiking. The cottage itself was lovely and traditional, it was like stepping back in time which was what we needed! But with WiFi and sky at your fingertips. We hope to come back very soon!

Loved it. The history, the location and the views. Could not have found a nicer place to stay.
