Welcome Cottages

A carefully curated collection of properties that offer high quality, good value accommodation in great locations across the UK, Ireland, France and Italy

Perfect for fishing and outdoor enthusiasts with woodland walks from the doorstep and a lake nestled in the grounds.

Once the home of ‘The Looker’, who kept a watchful eye over Little Downash Farm, this well-presented, detached holiday cottage is now an excellent base for a coarse fishing holiday, with a lake situated within the owner’s 20 acre farmland grounds. It is also perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, and there are woodland walks on the doorstep.
Explore the glorious East Sussex countryside via a 5-mile drive through the lanes, across the unspoilt Pevensey Levels (a Site of Special Scientific Interest) and across to Pevensey Bay, a haven for smugglers during the 18th century. The Romans arrived here first, followed later by William Duke of Normandy who turned the Roman fort into Pevensey Castle, whose substantial ruins you can visit today. The inspiring 31-mile 1066 Walk starts at Pevensey Castle through to Herstmonceux - don’t miss the hands-on Science Observatory with over one hundered interactive exhibits and restored telescopes. The walk then continues through Battle and across to the medieval Cinque Port Town of Rye. Why not venture over to Drusillas, where you can be a zoo keeper for the day, or Knockhatch Adventure Park with its ski and snowboard centre. Visit Eastbourne with its excellent sunshine record and International Airshow in August, or Beachy Head and the South Downs National Park which are all within easy driving distance. Leisure pool at Hailsham, 1 mile, riding and golf available on-site. Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.

All on the ground floor.
Living room:
With wood burner, 32" Freeview TV and DVD player.
Kitchen/dining room: With electric oven, electric hob, microwave and fridge.
Bedroom 1: With kingsize bed.
Bedroom 2:

It's a nice little cottage , just on the pictures looks like you have your own private place ! When we arrived we were surprised to see a caravan site next door ! So not much privacy (+ beds weren't very comfortable )

Nice cottage. Not as remote as expected, and no private outside space - but was a nice cottage, and farmhouse (and it’s campsite) are down the end of a lane - but still convenient base for reaching Lewes, Firle and Eastbourne.

We as a family and dogs enjoyed every minute, the people were very friendly and helpful and so were the animals on the farm, the only small thing is the lane down to the cottage is narrow and uneven apart from that a great time was had by all including the dogs xx will certainly recommend to anyone.

Quaint little cottage in farmland - away from it all. Really peaceful and quiet - have already stayed twice and would stay again - perfect for couples or families alike
