With a beautiful sandy beach and harbour only a 10-minute walk away, and just a 5-minute walk to all of the amenities and attractions, this popular traditional seaside town has to offer. Loanin Cottage is a bright and airy bungalow on the ground floor with plenty of parking and a wonderful sunny rear patio garden. Its central location makes this property an ideal base for up to three adults wanting to explore the Northumberland coastline and magnificent countryside. The property offers a welcoming living/dining room, stylishly decorated with a Laura Ashley sofa and comfy chair, where you can relax at the end of a busy day, and a bright dining area, perfect for enjoying hearty breakfasts or suppers. The fitted kitchen is well equipped with plenty of space for cooking.
When the evening draws to a close, the master bedroom opens out onto the pretty, enclosed, patio garden and the single overlooks the patio, too, which is lovely and quiet at the rear. The fully enclosed patio garden is perfect to sit out in the sunshine and enjoy a morning coffee or alfresco breakfast to start your busy fun-filled day. There is no better place to start your Northumbrian adventures than from the comforts of Loanin Cottage.
Seahouses offers a wide array of facilities including tearooms, restaurants, pubs, shops and of course the fish and chip shops! Boat trips to the Farne Islands run from the pretty harbour; the islands are famous for their nesting seabirds and grey seal colonies. Horse riding is available on the cusp of the village, and there is an impressive golf course on the links close by. The picture postcard village of Bamburgh, protected by its dramatic fortress, is only two miles north with its wide expanse of golden, and often empty, sandy beaches, and where the tidal island of Lindisfarne, locally known as Holy Island and one of the most important centres of early English Christianity, can be viewed. A further two miles up the coastline brings you to Waren Mill, which is steeped in history. Once an important port, its harbour has long since disappeared, silted up beneath the sands of the estuary. Visit Budle Bay, a bird sanctuary, where at low tide a vast expanse of mud flats is home to countless thousands of sea and land birds, making this location a haven for bird watchers.
The market town of Alnwick, with its own majestic castle, cobbled streets and friendly locals, offers many facilities a few miles inland. The Alnwick Garden is a popular visitor attraction, with its grand cascade waterfall and restaurant set within the largest tree house in Europe. Rainy days discover Barter Books one of the largest second-hand stores in England with a gorgeous café and cosy quirky interior. Beach ½ mile.
